Historia
“Pat, we need to kill the dog.” When a sudden mental illness struck his wife, Patrick Dylan found himself living with an eerie stranger. Scared and unprepared, he began a desperate battle to protect her from a mysterious disease, shelter their children from her bizarre behavior, and recover the woman he loved. Within weeks, she had been admitted to the emergency room, the hospital, and the local crisis facility, but none of the experts could provide an answer. As her illness eluded diagnosis, the family’s struggle was only beginning.

Historia
Our beauty-obsessed world perpetuates the idea that happiness, health, and ability to be loved are dependent on how we look, but authors Lindsay and Lexie Kite offer an alternative vision. With insights drawn from their extensive body image research, Lindsay and Lexie—PhDs and founders of the nonprofit Beauty Redefined (and also twin sisters!)—lay out an action plan that arms you with the skills you need to reconnect with your whole self and free yourself from the constraints of self-objectification.

More information than advice or self help.
Revisado: 01-29-21
I found that this book seemed to be a presentation of research information or things the author's had experienced, more than a self-help book. No real advice was given on making behavioral changes. It also seemed to be against any weight loss, cutting down tried & true methods such as WW known to help change into more positive eating styles, not force you into losing too much weight, and keeping weight off permanently. It is highly recommended by doctors.

Historia
During his years in a neural-health facility, Pat Peoples has formulated a theory about silver linings. He believes that his life is a movie produced by God, that his mission is to become physically fit and emotionally supportive, and that if he succeeds, his happy ending will be the return of his estranged wife, Nikki. When Pat goes to live with his parents, everything seems changed: no one will talk to him about Nikki, and his new therapist seems to be recommending adultery as a form of therapy.

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Highly impressed! Not your typical Stephen King!
Revisado: 09-09-20
Raúl Esparza does a fabulous job in narrating a multitude of characters in a story not typical of Stephen King. While not a creepy horror or bone-chilling suspense, this book keeps you captivated. Mr. Esparza's performance is brilliant, switching back from every type of person you can think of in mere seconds. Not only do the stereotypes of these characters have you wondering about this place, but then Stephen King throws in some lines that will have you laughing out loud. Again, not typical of classic King novels. From the sample, I didn't think this was going to be for me, but I was truly glad I purchased and listenEd. It may be long, but I went almost straight through, finishing in 2 days.
