I’d skip this one. It’s well voiced and you think it may be interesting , but not this one .

Historia
In a strange little home built into the branches of a grove of trees, live three robots—fatherly inventor android Giovanni Lawson, a pleasantly sadistic nurse machine, and a small vacuum desperate for love and attention. Victor Lawson, a human, lives there too. They’re a family, hidden and safe. The day Vic salvages and repairs an unfamiliar android labelled “HAP,” he learns of a shared dark past between Hap and Gio–a past spent hunting humans. When Hap unwittingly alerts robots from Gio’s former life to their whereabouts, the family is no longer hidden and safe.

You can't beat this author/ narrator combo
Revisado: 09-30-24
I love TJ Klune. This one started a little slow for me, and I almost thought I wasn't going to like it. But once again, I was drawn into a magical world full of lovable characters you can't get enough of. So many lessons to learn from this book. Just a beautiful story.

Disappointed
Revisado: 08-28-24
I read this based on a recommendation for books like "The Only One Left". It wasn't really much like it, outside of a seaside setting. That was fine. But it was slow moving and the eventual "big ending" was okay, but not all that shocking. It's not a bad book. I just expected more.

A smart, comic pause-resister about a Silicon Valley family in free fall over the course of one eventful summer from the author of Watch Me Disappear and Pretty Things. When Paul Miller’s pharmaceutical company goes public, making his family IPO millionaires, his wife, Janice, is sure this is the windfall she’s been waiting years for - until she learns, via messengered letter, that her husband is divorcing her (for her tennis partner!) and cutting her out of the new fortune.

Peppermint tea
Revisado: 01-04-23
Never again will I be able to drink peppermint tea without thinking of this book. It took me some time to like Wallace, but once I did, the story really took off. I couldn't wait to see what would happen. Such a beautiful, thought- provoking tale. I was in real tears at the end. Absolutely the best narration of any book I've ever listened to.
