This book made me so happy, and I loved being back in the Boston Rebels universe. Cross-Checked is the third book in this series and follows Alessandra Jones (AJ) and Ronan McCabe. AJ is the first female general manager in the league, and currently manages the Boston Rebels professional hockey team. She is fierce, independent, and a total boss. Ronan is a single father to a baby girl, Abby, and the team captain. AJ and McCabe have a complicated history that has impacted their professional relationship. When McCabe needs someone to watch Abby during a game, AJ steps in to help. AJ gets injured, and Ronan insists on taking care of her. What happens next? We get a rollercoaster enemies-to-lovers, reverse age gap, forbidden workplace romance with all the feels.

Whew! AJ and Ronan took me on a journey, and I loved every second of it. They had undeniable chemistry and were perfectly matched. McCabe is an amazing father, and I loved how he prioritized Abby in every decision he made. As a protector, he was always there to take care of Abby and AJ, but he knew when to allow AJ to be the strong and highly capable woman she is. AJ's natural maternal instincts were so sweet to witness, and I loved her moments with Abby. AJ and Ronan experienced much growth and helped each other heal. AJ fit so well into Ronan and Abby's lives, and she gained a life filled with so much happiness and love. Cross-Checked is a swoony, emotional, fun, and steamy read with characters that feel real and are easy to root for. I adore this series and can't wait for more.

Narration:
Angelica Rocca and Sebastian York performed this audiobook in duet-style narration. They were the perfect voices for AJ and McCabe and brought them to life in the best way. There is something so satisfying about listening to an audiobook after having already read it. Hearing certain scenes and the emotion Angelina and Sebastian put into them was an amazing experience. I loved the tension, chemistry, and banter. Angelina and Sebastian's performances elevated my experience with this story. Highly recommended.

In Good Company is the first book in the Pembroke Hills series, and follows Lucy and Cal's journey to love. Lucy is an aspiring chef with big dreams and a bigger heart. She lands what seems like the perfect gig—cooking for billionaire Callahan 'Cal' Hastings while spending the summer in the Hamptons. There's just one problem: Cal is her ex-boyfriend’s older brother, and Lucy never planned on falling head over heels for him. The chemistry between Lucy and Cal was off the charts. Their playful banter had me smiling ear to ear, and their undeniable chemistry made for some delicious steamy scenes. Cal's determined pursuit balanced perfectly with Lucy's feisty yet vulnerable nature, and I loved the irresistible dynamic their different personalities created. Lucy is an incredibly relatable character. She is strong, ambitious, and will do anything for those she cares about. I loved Lucy and Cal's slow-burn romance. Watching them genuinely fall for each other had my heart melting. This story is fun, steamy, and packed with emotional depth. I'm looking forward to what comes next for the Pembroke Hills crew.

Narration:
Erin Mallon and Connor Crais perform this audiobook in duet style narration. Their performances were amazing. I loved how well they portrayed the characters and brought them to life. Erin and Connor brought the tension, chemistry, and the fun banter. Connor saying "Lucy Baby" and "Good Girl" has been playing on repeat in my head. Erin and Connor are a fun narrating duo to listen to, and I highly recommend this audiobook.

One thing is for sure: I love everything about the Kroydon Hills universe. The MMCs in this series are swoony AF, and it is so hard for me to choose a favorite. I loved Lilah and Killian's story. Lilah Ryan is a pop star, and unbeknownst to her, she has a stalker. While she is home, taking a break from the pressures of her career, her team and family are adamant that she needs more security. Enter Killian St. James. He is a champion MMA fighter and the perfect person to provide her added protection. The problem? Lilah and Killian have a painful history, and now they are forced to face what tore them apart.

I am a huge fan of second-chance romance stories, and loved Lilah and Killian's journey back to each other. These two are truly meant to be together, and I loved watching them work through the miscommunications and misunderstandings that kept them apart for far too long. Killian is so swoony! This man had me giggling and kicking my feet. He was down bad for Lilah, and I loved every second of it. This story is more than a love story, and is about redemption and fighting for what you want in life. Captivating gives all the enemies to lovers, forced proximity goodness, with a delicious slow burn, and some twists that made it impossible to put this book down.

Narration:
Desiree Ketchum, Aiden Snow, and Ava Erickson did a fantastic job narrating this story. They really brought the characters and story to life. This story is so good, and listening to the audio created an amazing immersive reading experience. I highly recommend reading and listening to Captivating in tandem.

Revisado: 04-10-25

All My Love is unlike any of Morgan Elizabeth’s other books. This is the type of book that sticks with you for a while. Riggs and Stella’s story is real, raw, and emotional. I was locked in from the start and could not put this book down.

Riggs and Stella grew up together, sharing everything from childhood secrets to a deep love for music. As Riggs gets caught up in the rockstar life—partying and drinking—it starts to negatively impact their relationship. Broken trust causes Stella to walk away from the love of her life. Years later, they are back in each other’s orbits and forced to confront what caused things to fall apart.

Riggs and Stella are the types of characters that bury themselves deep into your soul. They are both flawed but experience much growth throughout the story. Riggs and Stella are meant to be together. There are lots of ups and downs, and they have to fight for their happy ending, but ultimately, they find their way back to each other. Both of these characters and their life experiences are relatable and believable. Beyond the love story, this book thoughtfully tackles heavy topics. This friends-to-lovers, second-chance romance took me on an emotional journey, and I enjoyed it.

Narration:
Emma Wilder and Stephen Dexter did a wonderful job with this audiobook. Their performances made it easy for me to finish this book in one sitting. Emma and Stephen really brought this story to life. They were the perfect voices for Stella and Riggs. Emma's male voice is so good! I thoroughly enjoyed my listening experience and highly recommend this audiobook.

Catch Her Heart is book three in the Vancouver Tridents series, following Lark Miller and Dan “Monty” Montgomery. I loved this swoony, friends-to-lovers, baseball romance. Monty has had feelings for Lark for a long time but settled for just being friends because Lark was in a relationship with someone else. He has been on the sidelines and deep in the friend zone, silently hoping for a chance to win her heart. Lark is not happy in her relationship and realizes her soon-to-be husband will never give her the love and companionship she desires. She has just been going through the motions to maintain her family's approval. When Lark decides to end her engagement, she starts to see Monty in a different light, and the door opens for Monty to show her how great they could be together.

I loved Lark and Monty together! They were meant to be, and I couldn't help but root for them. Lark and Monty had the sweetest, most unproblematic relationship ever, and I loved witnessing it develop into something amazing. Monty was down bad for Lark, and their already solid friendship made their romantic relationship even better. Their communication was on point, and I loved how they handled their surprise pregnancy. Monty's reaction to the news made me melt. He is so swoony and so good to Lark. Their journey to love just felt good and put a huge smile on my face. There was low drama, low angst, and no huge conflicts. Catch Her Heart is a super sweet and heartwarming addition to this series and I can't wait for the next book.

Narration:
Victoria Connolly and Tim Paige do a wonderful job with this dual-style narrated audiobook. They were the perfect voices for Lark and Monty. Victoria and Tim brought the characters to life and made it easy for me to sympathize with them. I felt the vulnerability and love shared between Lark and Monty as they navigated their feelings and new normal. Victoria and Tim's performances made this an easy and enjoyable listening experience.

My Silver Lining takes us back to Rosewood River for Lulu and Rafe's story. Laura has made me fall madly in love with all things Rosewood River, and I never want to leave. Lulu and Rafe's hilarious fake dating, enemies-to-lovers romance had me hooked from the start. They have one of the funniest mute cutes I've ever read. Love at first throat punch? Yes, indeed.

Lulu is in the charming town of Rosewood River to spend time with her best friend, Henley, before moving to Paris to expand her jewelry business. She's also trying to avoid drama from her attention-seeking ex. Henley's boyfriend, Easton, offers Lulu his home for her stay. Rafe, Easton's brother, is staying in the guesthouse because his own home is being renovated. Things don't start great between Lulu and Rafe, but when both need a fake date, they agree to help each other out. Soon the lines begin to blur, and their pretend relationship starts feeling real. I could not get enough of Lulu and Rafe. The chemistry between them is fantastic, and their banter is some of the best I've read. They definitely knew how to get under each other's skin, and I loved every second of it.

With Lulu leaving for Paris in three short months she is determined to keep her emotions at bay. The tension was thick and I loved when they decided to give into their feelings for each other. I loved Lulu's personality. She is confident, strong, funny, independent, and knows exactly what she wants for her life. Rafe is the perfect book boyfriend. He is protective, patient, and genuinely cares for Lulu. Rafe was exactly the type of man Lulu needed. They were so good together and I loved how they showed up for each other. As always, Laura gives us the best characters and found family element. The Chadwick family is so fun and of course, my boy Beefcake is the star of the show. It was also good to get more of the Magnolia Falls crew. I adore this series, and can't wait to get to know the next Chadwick brother.

Narration:
Vanessa Edwin and Sean Masters perform this audiobook in duet. Their performances are phenomenal. Vanessa and Sean are two of my favorites and I could listen to them read just about anything. They are the perfect voices for Lulu and Rafe and brought them to life beautifully. Vanessa and Sean perfectly executed the banter between the characters and I could feel every emotion. This was an amazing listening experience and I highly recommend this audiobook.

What an incredible story! This was my first read by Nyssa Kathryn and definitely won't be my last. I was completely invested in Aspen and Jesse's journey. Aspen wants to start fresh and get away from her terrible ex and unstable mother. Her friend, Jesse Hayes, ex-special forces, has moved back to his hometown of Amber Ridge, and is now serving as the town sheriff. Aspen moves to Amber Ridge where she and Jesse become housemates. Despite their growing friendship and clear attraction to each other, Jesse tries to keep things platonic. Aspen starts to feel settled in Amber Ridge until an unexpected visitor from her past threatens to ruin everything, including the life she wants to build with Jesse. When things turn bad, Jesse is there to protect Aspen and keep her safe.

I loved Aspen and Jesse together! They were so sweet and the perfect match. Aspen is strong and a fighter. I truly felt for her and everything she was going through with her mother and ex. She did not give up though and she was determined to somehow find happiness. I fell hard for Jesse. He was patient, thoughtful, and always put Aspen's safety first. Aspen and Jesse truly helped each other heal. I could not wait for the moment they both finally gave into their feelings for each other. The development of their friends-to-lovers relationship was beautiful, and I loved their special connection. This story has twists and turns that kept me locked in and unable to stop listening. The action, yearning, tension, and steam were perfect. I definitely need more of this series and can't wait to see what comes next.

Narration:
Lucy Rivers and Connor Crais performed this audiobook in duet and it was phenomenal. I am a huge fan of both of these amazing voice actors, and was blown away by their performances. They fully embodied the characters and kept me engaged from start to finish. Although this was told in third person POV, I felt fully connected to the characters and immersed in the story. Lucy and Connor elevated the story, and created a memorable listening experience.

If We Ever Meet Again tells the story of Farrah as she navigates the journey toward finding her first love. The setting immediately pulled me in. I was an expat in Asia for a short time and love that this was set in Shanghai. The setting was described well and I loved the cultural elements of this book. It was really easy for me to immerse myself into the characters' world. This story is well-written and flowed well, making it easy to finish in one sitting. I was rooting for Blake and Farrah. I loved how their relationship progressed throughout the story. During their year together they experienced so many ups and downs.

I felt so many emotions while reading this - I laughed, smiled, and cried. The characters were believable. I did not have the best impression of Blake at first, but he grew on me. Farrah was a bit naive in the beginning, but it was nice witnessing her growth throughout the story. I felt their experiences were appropriate based on their ages and where they are in their lives. The ending did break me, but I know Blake and Farrah's story continues in the next book. Overall this was a good read. I enjoyed the banter and the steam! I look forward to continuing with this series.

Narration:
I enjoyed the audiobook and it met all of my expectations. I've listened to a few books narrated by Cindy Kay and Aiden Snow. They always do a wonderful job and really bring the characters to life. The narrators made the story easy to follow and I was captivated the entire time. Their voices were perfect for the characters. I’ll definitely continue with this series via audiobook and recommend it to anyone who loves coming of age type romance stories.

Twisted Lies is the fourth book in the Twisted series and follows the story of Christian and Stella. Ana Huang ended this series right! This was my favorite book in the Twisted series. Christian is a mysterious, morally grey, billionaire tech genius. Stella is a kind, introverted, strong, and fiercely independent social media influencer. I love Christian and Stella together. Their chemistry was palpable. Christian is the ultimate protector and exactly what Stella needs. Christian fell first and hard. He did everything in his power to make Stella his. He is very "touch her and 💀" but is also supportive of Stella. He helped her believe in herself and see her worth.

I love the fake dating trope. There was a lot of tension, and this was a true "medium" burn. The character development is fantastic. The characters are relatable and believable. While reading this series, I felt like I really got to know the characters and honestly was super invested in their lives. This book had the perfect mix of emotion, drama, suspense, passion, steam, twists, and darkness. I can honestly say I am sad this series is over, however, I am excited to start reading the Kings of Sin series.

Narration:
Cindy Kay and Aiden Snow perform this audiobook in dual-style narration. This was my favorite of their performances in this series. Cindy and Aiden really pulled me into this story and I didn't want it to end. This is an emotional journey and I felt it all. This was a phenomenal listening experience and I highly recommend this audiobook.

Twisted Hate is the third book in the Twisted Series. Although these are interconnected stories, they can be read as standalones. I have not read the final book yet, but this might be my favorite book in the series. Rhys is the perfect man, but Josh is fighting for the top spot. I loved Jules. She is intelligent and I loved how she stood up for herself. She also knew how to get under Josh's skin. Josh is intelligent, confident, and very forward. I loved how he cared for Jules. He is likable and communicates.

Jules and Josh are both dynamic characters. Their relationship is fiery - filled with great banter and amazing chemistry. There were some funny moments and the steamy scenes are amazing. I was fully invested in the development of their relationship. The push and pull of their relationship, twists, and secrets revealed, made it impossible to put this book down. I love how the books all connect. It's always fun to see how the characters all interact as a group. The teaser with Christian and Stella has me excited to read Twisted Lies.

Narration:
Cindy Kay and Aiden Snow perform this audiobook in dual-style narration. As expected, they delivered amazing performances. It's amazing how Cindy and Aiden can voice all of the couples, yet still make them distinguishable. I have enjoyed their ability to make the characters' personalities shine and bring them to life in the best way. Cindy and Aiden's performances elevated my experience with the story.
