Wonderful reporter. Well documented. Well produced. But, the information is focused only on the negative aspects that are told by antidotes. I was hoping that the coverage would generally report the good and bad, in line with statistical findings of the medical research. But, only the potential bad side effects were reported.

Historia
From the hero whistleblower of the infamous Theranos scam, Thicker than Water is a look at never-before-revealed details behind closed doors at the company, revealing a cautionary tale of corporate bullying, gaslighting, ego, and wealth running amok in Silicon Valley. Tyler Shultz had been in the workforce for less than a year when he emailed Elizabeth Holmes, his employer and the CEO and founder of Theranos, with concerns that the company’s lab practices were faulty, ignored quality control, and were potentially dangerous to patients.

Historia
Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

Trite
Revisado: 04-20-25
Almost couldn’t listen long enough to get to the mystery. The writing for the female lead was so trite, so basic. The mystery was well thought out but the characters, especially the female lead, were boring and basic.

The plot is great; the story telling so-so
Revisado: 03-23-25
The plot, the twists, the reveals are great. But the voice of Nicholas and the other male characters are both boring and awkward. All the interesting elements are given to the ladies.

Historia
Charlie knows he’s not the main character in his own story. He’s just another schmuck in the Ivy League looking to be somebody. He plays in a terrible jazz band, falls in love too easily, and struggles with the human being business. Written in a wry, comedic style, A Comedy of Nobodies: A Collection of Stories traces one fall semester in the lives of four typical but unforgettable university students who, as compensation for their existential anxieties, just want to feel understood.

I do not enjoy laughing at others misfortunes. The narrator laughs at himself to hide his embarrassment but it is not funny.

I miss the “Jack” narrator
Revisado: 12-07-24
It’s a nice cozy, but I miss the Jack narrator and the slight sauciness brought by the visits with Jack. I won’t be continuing with the series.

Historia
Never in my 40 years did I think my new normal would be gluing body parts back onto ghosts and hosting a houseful of dead squatters. Thank God for superglue and a strong stomach. Never thought I’d date the Grim Reaper and that I would be the one to blow it. I mean, how idiotic does one have to be to get dumped by a dude who lives in Hell? Going about business as usual is not usual in any way. No one is who they seem to be...and to be honest, neither am I. What I’d known to be true has turned out to be myth. The angels are frightening, and the demons are hot.

Hate books that end in a cliffhanger
Revisado: 12-03-24
Books that end just before a big reveal or resolution seem like a cheap way to get someone to commit to your next book. A very cheap way
