Historia
Come with us to an Enchanted Place, a forest where Winnie-the-Pooh lived with Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Eeyore, Kanga, and Little Roo. The stories are about Christopher Robin and these good companions having wonderful times getting in and out of trouble. It is all very exciting and, really, quite thrilling no matter how young or old you may be. It is painful to try and imagine what the world would be like without them.

I last read this when I was 4. This audio version was superb as it shares the creative and kind mind of the author and Christopher Robin's world. I am amazed with the tenderness and joy. In our current world this should be mandatory listening / reading by our world's politicians. Absolutely beautiful.

Historia
Traveling across millennia, weaving the experiences and world views of cultures both extinct and extant, The Invention of Yesterday shows that the engine of history is not so much heroic (battles won), geographic (farmers thrive), or anthropogenic (humans change the planet) as it is narrative. Many thousands of years ago, when we existed only as countless small autonomous bands of hunter-gatherers widely distributed through the wilderness, we began inventing stories - to organize for survival, to find purpose and meaning, to explain the unfathomable.

Thoughtful appraisal while dissecting nuances
Revisado: 05-03-22
A fully enjoyable book. The nuances reviewed and Dissected and its integration into thought and history enabled a great deal more thought and awareness of our history while respecting the overlap of events.

Filled with unforgettable stories of emperors, generals, and religious patriarchs, as well as fascinating glimpses into the life of the ordinary citizen, Lost to the West reveals how much we owe to the Byzantine Empire that was the equal of any in its achievements, appetites, and enduring legacy. For more than a millennium, Byzantium reigned as the glittering seat of Christian civilization.

Stupendous detail
Revisado: 03-27-22
The book was filled with details I had not even suspected. While recanting the nuanced details there might be more "event telling" than mindset shifts that are shared, it is amazing that this much research is in one place.
Superb reading and I need to read again to capture more nuances.

Historia
In The World for Sale, two leading journalists lift the lid on one of the least scrutinised corners of the economy: the workings of the billionaire commodity traders who buy, hoard and sell the earth's resources. It is the story of how a handful of swashbuckling businessmen became indispensable cogs in global markets: enabling an enormous expansion in international trade and connecting resource-rich countries - no matter how corrupt or war-torn - with the world's financial centres.

Money and power and shadows
Revisado: 03-15-22
The book was illuminating through the communication of the personal relationships, the methods employed, and the goals: money, power, control, screwing others while maintaining anonymity where possible.
The clean writing was appreciated. The conclusion by some that new traders will be more honorable is pure rubbish as money and power drives many to sidestep kindness, fairness, economic and ecological responsibility, and just follow the desire of their bosses to make money. This operating method is shared by politicians and businessmen so only tighter guidelines and regulatory data and enforcement can curb the dousing of countries people by the monetary flames launched by their governments and the money-first traders described.
The logic that "someone will make the money so why not me" as shown in many episodes (especially Trafigura's dumping of sulfur-laden sludge from mexican in oil west Africa into a trash dump using a shell company) shows the problems of supply chains and regulatory methods.
A book worth reading!

Detailed story-like and approachable history of the biological world
Revisado: 03-03-22
The book read like a thoughtful and wonderful story that should be done as a movie ( probably though going forward in time rather than going back in time chapter by chapter). Clearly well done and detailed and complex but also done in an approachable manner.

The Real Anthony Fauci details how Fauci, Gates, and their cohorts use their control of media outlets, scientific journals, key government and quasi-governmental agencies, global intelligence agencies, and influential scientists and physicians to flood the public with fearful propaganda about COVID-19 virulence and pathogenesis, and to muzzle debate and ruthlessly censor dissent.

Detailed must read for humans with a brain
Revisado: 02-20-22
The depth of research covering Fauci, gates, Rockefeller and the governmental agencies that have supported and continue to support the fear based creation, identification, and resolution of contagions while shaping society is clearly worthy of reading and understanding. Evangelizing messaging and actions is scary and now real.
This book has well integrated many aspects of governmental projects, history and the Fauci/ gates/ pharma alliance that seeks to bypass happenstance with a criminal adjustment of society. Eye opening book for certain.
For those who use audible, the speaker is clear but has a bit of a dramatic voice - the writing and reading is probably better!

Collegial tome of societal development
Revisado: 02-16-22
The book is a well rounded tome making it clear that the more we think things are clear and simple, the more we are wrong: details and differences between people have and will always exist. Old civilizations were smart and the more we know, the more we realization their brains were good and governments used assemblies and groups and charisma and knowledge to affect their world.
What is the benefit of societies, what are the expectations of leaders and its participants, and how did we get where we are? Questions of intrigue. Answers were within even if history is still being formed.

Historia
The most important fact about the coronavirus pandemic that turned the world upside down in 2020 is that our response to it has been an epic overreaction driven by a disastrous confluence of public and private interests - all of them purporting to “follow the science”. Since the lockdowns began, millions of Americans have relied on the reporting of Alex Berenson. Exposing the hysteria and manipulation behind the worst failure of public policy since World War I, this clear-eyed journalist has been a critical source of reason and truth.

amazing when intelligence and logic trumps hope
Revisado: 01-21-22
Everything that I had heard about the author is clearly untrue. He is a great writer and speaker while sharing competent content that discusses pertinent aspects of the current status of covid 19.
While I am a democrat it amazes me how the problems under trump have just extended under Biden while Fauci and the media just augment the pattern of lies.
Well worth reading (or listening)

Thoughtful and comprehensive
Revisado: 01-11-22
It is hard to be anything but positive about dettmer's work. Thoughtful with attempts to explain and relate knowledge were .. appreciated. Listening to technical explanations is harder than in print! The book seemed comprehensive and balanced. I always detest when writers complain about astrology as the more we find about tides impacting plants and people, we realize that conjecture from scientists is still.. conjecture. The importance of balanced immune systems means that proper supplementation is just that .. proper supplementation : vitamin d3, iodine are included in that. Being explanatory and comedic is good, attempts at comprehensive is good, but it is more important yo state what you know than guess at what you don't.

Toxic imbalance
Revisado: 12-28-21
Humans are complex. Our desire to be independent and belong have to be in balance. To belong one has to follow and to be independent you have to be in control and you have to know when you are doing both. This book notes that Anthony was doing both but never in complete balance. That is both beautiful and tragic.
