Before you use a credit....
Revisado: 02-24-20
Cutting right to the chase.....the only reason I took a chance on this book is because it's narrated by Lori Prince, whom I adore. However, I'm not sure why this is under the romance category. This book is 91% tennis, 9% "romance" and I use that term loosely. There is zero description during intimate scenes....no real emotions are talked about, there's no real passion. You're left to your own imagination. I want to be led through it.....that's why we buy these books. It is verrrrryyyyy slow starting out and takes forever before anything happens between the main characters. IF you love tennis you will love this book. The author really is a good writer but understand what you're spending your credit on before you use it.

I hate to say negative things about books. However, I know I appreciate someone letting me know when to avoid a book and why. The story had potential but fell flat. The worst part was the narrator. The narration was terrible. No emotion and one of the main characters, while only 18 yo, sounded like a 12 yo young boy. Actually he kind of sounded like Linus from Charlie Brown. I know this is an experienced narrator, and maybe it's just me, but this voice would have been better suited for reading instructions on how to plant begonias rather than reading a romance book.

frustrated as can be
Revisado: 06-06-19
It pains me to write this. I love Ms. Healy's writing usually but this story took wayyyyyyy too long to develop. The characters unwillingness to express their feelings to each other made me want to pull my hair out and there was almost zero romance/intimacy. I listen to romance novels for romance! It was also quite cheesy in places and, in my opinion, quite unrealistic. I too didn't understand the point of the epilogue. It should be stated, however, that Jill Smith's narration was flawless as usual. She is the only reason I finished this book. Overall, I want to run screaming into the night and pull out all of my hair. Having said that, I hope you have a different, more positive experience with it.

Historia
Jay "Flash" Reynolds has a brilliant future as a trauma surgeon until a truck on a rainy night changes her life. Assistant chief medical examiner Olivia Price is more at ease with the dead than the living - at least the dead never lie. All she needs to do is listen to their stories. What she doesn't need is a surly new resident who would rather be somewhere else. Two women, one with a damaged body, the other a damaged spirit, challenge each other to dare to live again.

Another book ruined by terrible narration.
Revisado: 01-16-19
Well neat. This is the first Radclyffe book I can't finish because the narrator's voice for one of the main characters, well several characters, is so bad. For me, listening to Radclyffe is a slam dunk good use of a credit; it's like coming home.
Not this time. The narrator's read of the sex scenes is so terrible it's roughly the equivalent of someone describing my parents having sex; neither of which are anything I want to be a part of. She is completely emotionless and has a sing song quality to her voice. Save your valuable credit for another book. Trust me.

Historia
Dr. Ali Torveau knows just how fragile life can be - she sees death and tragedy every day in the trauma unit. Battling the dark forces of fate is her life's work and she doesn't want or need anything else, certainly nothing as transient as love. Plenty of women try to change her mind, but she never has any trouble saying no. Not until the day firefighter Beau Cross shows up in her ER and sets Ali’s carefully ordered world aflame.

Narrator ruins this book
Revisado: 01-02-19
Nothing ruins a great book like a narrator who reads a very descriptive and well-written love scene (as Radclyffe always does) like they're reading from the classifieds. Absolutely abysmal. The entire time I was wishing Abbie Craden would have narrated this book. If so I would have given it five stars across the board. This was roughly the equivalent of a high end, expensive dress being sold at Kmart. Boo.

great story, great narration!
Revisado: 11-29-18
Great story....great character development and intensely written love scenes. THANK YOU Ms. Riley for "spelling out" love scenes. Some authors leave love scenes to the listeners imagination. This is lesbian romance for crying out loud! We want to be led! On an equally important note....anyone who doesn't adore Lori Prince needs their head examined. She gives amazing depth to characters and is the only narrator I know brave enough to give love-making scenes the passion and intensity needed to make your stomach jump and make you almost drive off the road. This is a great book. Buy it. The end.

Sad to say I'm disappointed
Revisado: 09-06-18
I am a huge fan of Ms. Vincent....HUGE. But I'm sad to say she struggled mightily with her America accent. Ms. Vincent is so very gifted with so many other accents but in this book her characters would go from East coast to southern to a bit of Europe all in the same character. It detracted from the story and, to me, prevented her from providing enough emotion and feeling between the main characters. I feel terrible writing this about her because I adore her so much. The story itself was boring for me. It took too long for them to connect and their connection wasn't believable because of the lack of emotion and proper inflection. Overall, it didn't do it for me but other reviews seem to love it so I hope you do too.

Coming out is easier when you've got someone by your side. At least that's how the hyper-private Quinn Kincaid sees it. When her publicist suggests a good old-fashioned sham of a Hollywood relationship, Quinn reluctantly agrees. And that's how the star of Jordan's Appeal, TV's highest rated legal drama, ends up with a fake girlfriend - the very real, very sexy, and very gay soap star Lacey Matthews.

Historia
Nothing is easy about life above the Arctic Circle. Except, perhaps, falling in love. Bryson Faulkner embraces the challenges that come with making a home in one of the most beautiful but unforgiving places on earth: the isolation of the endless wilderness, the harsh and unpredictable climate, and the predators that lurk about her remote cabin. And even the most perilous dangers of all-those that await her when she takes to the skies as one of Alaska's most daring bush pilots.

great story, marginal narration
Revisado: 07-17-18
Really a great story but I have found authors shouldn't narrate their own books. There was very little emotion conveyed and I found it hard to picture the characters. Narration was too monotone...too robotic. It hugely took away from what could have been an A+ book with the right narrator.
