Really got into the story and cast until the climax, where the story “jumped the shark” and got overly complex for the teenage main character. Always recommend Steven Weber - his voice and tone are perfect for mysteries and thrillers!

Solid story and narration

Love listening to Henry’s voice, which kept me going through the many jumps in timelines and stories that seemed as if sloppy editing might be at fault. Most stories were great to hear - especially those with behind-the-scenes insights and provided the larger lessons to arc throughout the book.

Wow! So excited to get this book I binge read it! So makes you wonder if Jean “plotted” this while writing “The Plot,” as it so seamlessly expands the known universe of it! Absolutely appreciated the narrator this time out - the prior one was so awful I physically read the book instead. Also makes me wonder (and hope) if there this will become a trilogy (no spoiler alerts here).

Touching and tough - a must listen

I’m sure those who listened to this before his death were cheering for him and his tough recovery. Those like me who have the hindsight of his death hear a touching, sad story of a great guy who couldn’t get past his addictions and fears. Dying less than a year after publication,Matt Perry’s narration is both sharp and haunting. A must listen to book of a life spinning out of control.

First (and hopefully last) time I read a book where I hated every character and none of them
Had any redeeming values. The story was predictable, told through the voices of 3 main characters in a triangle of deception, anger and lies - one a teenage girl who was so annoyingly stereotypical. Wanted to quit a few times, but continued hoping one of them would rise up to being worth cheering for.

With a clever storyline shuttling backwards in time, the intensity and complexity increased pace and kept me guessing right to the last page (not the end). Loved the narrator and the characters were well defined and easy to track as they developed chapter by chapter. Definitely recommend reading!

Couldn’t wait for this to be published, as I’ve loved all of the author’s and narrator’s previous books in the series! They both hit this one out of the park!
