Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

But after a massive crash, they’re the only survivors to wash ashore on an uncharted Caribbean Island. Armed with only the clothes on their backs and zero survival skills, they fight to overcome hunger, thirst, deadly wildlife—and most terrifyingly—decades of accrued resentment. Hilarious, Entertaining...it's like watching a TV show, but without pictures.
Revisado: 11-09-24
Both Actresses were more like sisters, their friendship flows well. Not sure about the parts where the story kept switching pace to add different characters in. I never knew they had crashed, then survived on an island. It was a lil muddled there for me, but overall, Taraji n Tracey were funny and relatable.

loved the way, the Liz stood her ground with her mother.
Ad hiw close she was with her sister Shell.
Overall, it was a wonderfully written book; it kept me on the edge of my seat, literally. The voice reader did an excellent job, with each accents and voice change.
The 3 last chapters felt like I was watching a suspended filled movie. The scene at the church where Owen/Joseph took Liz captive; I predicted he had a knife.
It was devastated and ironic for those sisters have lost their future hubbies on wedding day...( therapy for all")
Now that I know Sylvia wasn't a blk spider, her and her husband can reconcile and live out their golden urs together.
Great wroting/storyline.
I couldn't wait to 5💫💫💫💫💫+ this story.
will listen from same author again, Shell be in my archives with A. Shreve one of my favorite best authors.

Historia
Born on a plantation in Charles City, Virginia, Pheby Delores Brown has lived a relatively sheltered life. Shielded by her mother’s position as the estate’s medicine woman and cherished by the Master’s sister, she is set apart from the others on the plantation, belonging to neither world. She’d been promised freedom on her eighteenth birthday, but instead of the idyllic life she imagined with her true love, Essex Henry, Pheby is forced to leave the only home she has ever known. She unexpectedly finds herself thrust into the bowels of slavery at the infamous Devil’s Half Acre.

An amazing story, based from a true story. Our ancestors stories need to be told by us. Good Katma bequeath the land back to the laborers. I must visit the trail in Virginia. I am always searching for our ancestors near n far. Great book and great research. Very captivating. I would recommend.

It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

I believe every word. This family was not very kind. Monsters behind closed doors. I am astonished by Kate n Will's, and now King Charle's behavior.
I think most of the blame put on The Susexxes, is due to pure jealousy and pettiness. They were ran out of GB, and stripped of everything, no care for the GG kids. Diana did smashed that ole queen Christmas ornament from the tree,(hee-hee) gud for her. I'm glad she's watching over Harry, Meg n the kids. They are all free now. Great "read." Harry did a great job narrating. 👏🏽 👍🏾 👌🏾 🙌🏾 💙

Her desperation is dialed up higher with a shocking proclamation as she stands before him pregnant, weak, and weary: “Agent Thomas,” she says, “I believe I am Mary.”

This was a great "what if"" about the birth of the Messiah. Interesting how they chose a Black Woman to birth the savior of humanity. We carry the burden of the world in more ways than one. But I digress.
The story was well written, V O acting, sound effects were all top notch. Great job everyone! Just wished it was longer. I want more! Smiles
