Eli is warm, funny, and engaging as she teaches about attachment therapy and the ways its underlies all of the other parenting theories and ideas most of us are juggling!

The three things (amongst many!) I loved about this book:

1. This isn’t a book that needs you to throw out your other tactics or parenting ideologies, but rather it tells you WHY these tools work and how to construct a healthy, attachment-based foundation that will make all of the other things WORK

2. I left this book feeling positive and empowered about changing some of my less than ideal parenting tactics versus feeling overwhelmed or regretful about past parenting choices that feel less than ideal now.

3. This isn’t just for parents! Yes, a lot of it deals with the practical act of parenting, but it also highlights a lot of challenging parental behavior that many of us may have have experienced, why it doesn’t work, and how it impacts people. It is a fascinating and meaningful chance to assess your own upbringing and explore a new perspective on how to love and support any kiddo in your orbit.

This is a book I think I will come back to again and again!

Would you be willing to try another book from Emma Cline? Why or why not?

I liked this book, but she spent A LOT of time describing pointless elements of the book... Like a more wordy version of Jodie Piccoult.

What about Caroline Lee’s performance did you like?

I absolutely ADORE Caroline Lee, and she's what kept me listening.

Any additional comments?

This book was pretty slow and I wasn't really able to grasp the characters as well as I have been able to in Moriarty's previous books.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I loved the part of the book that actually talks about the Clintons-- Byrne seems fair and honest in his assessments.

Any additional comments?

By the end of the book, Byrne was talking about his time as an Air Marshal and I had to turn it off. I wish he had stayed more on topic or changed the title of the book to "Gary Byrne's Personal Views on Life".

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I literally cannot think of one... Someone with severe ADHD?

What was most disappointing about Maria Semple’s story?

This story was so twisted and weird... I kept thinking it would become more cohesive and make sense, but this had a joke of an ending. She had to get her teeth pulled to go to Antarctic and totally ditcher her entire family because of an old architecture dream? WHAT?!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kathleen Wilhoite?

Anyone. Stephen Hawking.
