Spoiled Heroine

It seems "wokeness" has infiltrated this historical novel through this spoiled heroine. It's rather unrealistic for her to act so spoiled with the abuse that she has endured in her young life. I am not a fan of bringing modern values into these historical stories. I read/ listen to them because of the historical charm and realism. Julie Johnstone is an excellent author. This one was a disappointment.

Pamela Clare delivers another memorable love story. Her characters and storyline are realistic, original and deep. You will hate to reach the end.
I find I learn so much about different cultures and trades. In every situation she writes she seems to do extensive research that takes you right there in the moment. The fine details are not boring, but woven together in such a fashion that breaths life into each character and situation. I find myself returning to these stories again and again!

Epic Historical Love Story

Wow, this story is brilliantly written with such attention to detail for the time period. There is such rich depth of characters that you'll feel like you know them and you'll miss them when it's over. There's Iaian and Annie the principal characters. Then there are Morgan and Conner, Iaian's brothers, Joseph, their Indian brother, Killy a feisty Irishman and so many others to love. Wentworth "the wee German Lairdy " is their commander and he's equally interesting, of course you want to choke his neck sometimes.
I highly recommend this book to anyone. It has battle action, comedy and a beautiful love story in a historical setting that's so real you feel like you're in it. Enjoy!
