10/10 narrator’s performance! I’m so glad I decided to do this one on audio. As for the book itself - I was
not prepared. Yes, this includes the cheeky and cheesy but cute rom com vibes we can almost always expect from MQ. But there was more depth and emotion to this one that hit me hard. I had to pull out the tissues a few times. Overall, I think the only thing keeping me from rating this 5 stars was that it was a touch long and the third act breakup shattered me in the worst way. But at the end of the day this book was very well written, great audio performance, and I would def recommend!!

One of my favs from this author

The performance in this audio was top tier. In my opinion, one of the best Jacob Morgan has done!

As far as the story, I was completely obsessed and invested from the get go. I will admit that the female main character, Vivian, was not one of my personal favorites in the Ana Huang arsenal of great female leads. I think I’m being picky though because Dante was just so great!

If you like main male characters who grovel, on their knees, literally… you will eat this up!!

Just what I needed!

Sometimes I crave a deliciously forbidden romance and this was it! I found myself invested in Indie’s backstory from the very beginning. So, when Astor Banes (her boyfriend’s dad) helps her out of a mess created by her mom, I was squealing with delight. Their spicy scenes were sensational and it was a treat to not have to wait with a slow burn. I will definitely go on in this series I really enjoyed it!!

I’m officially hooked. I love this series so much! I’m a sucker for high stakes, blinding love, morally gray MMC, grumpy/sunshine, hate to love… I can’t say enough about this book!!

The FMC was so unique. (In a good way!) I admired her strength and kindness - and she still managed to surprise me through the story. She was so sure of herself and made Declan a melting mess of a man. Goals 😂

I’ll admit, compared to the first book, this one got a little bit slower in some parts. Stick with it though… it gets more exciting as it goes along! At mid point, the author had me fooled. I didn’t look at how long I had left in the book, and by the way things were going in the story, I figured it was about to end. Nope!! Twists and turns came out of no where and the whole second half was thrilling!

Starting the next one immediately 😜

Obsessed

I usually get bored during audio books. But I started this one on a while because I’ve been wanting to read the series, and I am SO GLAD that I did!!! The cast shares back and forth dialogue which I haven’t encountered before. It was sensational!

This book has one of the swooniest (real word? Idk you know what I mean 😂) MMC’s ever. Morally gray, broody, but will do anything for his girl. Need I say more??

The high stakes is what made me fall in love with this story though. I couldn’t stop listening. I usually lose interest after the couple gets together. Not this time!! There was suspense, action, intense spice, and even great side characters!

All in all, this deserves infinity stars. The audio performance and writing were both perfection in my book!!!
