Historia
While Laura Ingalls grows up in a little house on the Western prairie, Almanzo Wilder is living on a big farm in New York State. Here Almanzo and his brother and sisters help with the summer planting and fall harvest. In winter there is wood to be chopped and great slabs of ice to be cut from the river and stored. Time for fun comes when the jolly tin peddler visits or, best of all, when the fair comes to town.

Descriptive details of Early Pioneer Life w/ Values
Revisado: 08-15-23
I found it interesting to her how Laura’s husband was raised in vivid detail. How the workings of a family farm works to business in town. Interwoven the values of respect, integrity, honesty, value of oneself and value of hard work. Ways the kids had fun throughout the different seasons was reminiscent for me. Wonderful easy listen audio book.

Nice surprise hearing additional quest with Mary Poppins
Revisado: 08-01-23
Well read by Ms Sophie Thompson! How she remembers each character’s voice change, is astonishing. The additional adventures included in the book came as a delightful surprise. It reinforced the need to read the original books of any movie, made from the story in a book.

This is a fresh look at the adult life of the author in her own words. Gathered from museums, archives, and personal collections, the letters span over 60 years of Wilder's life, from 1894 to 1956, and shed new light on Wilder's day-to-day life.

Must listen as it is …”The rest of the story” and give us such a personal insight
Revisado: 07-26-23
This is very calming and relaxing to listen to. Most audio books are. What makes this so endearing? The personal insights and dialogue of two of my treasured authors. Listening Mother speaking to daughter and visa versa gives us insights in to how in twined their lives were. It also shows how much we have given up since technology became so intrusive in our lives. It was a slower time and in some ways a time of innocence well captured in the letters. Thank you for filling in a back story to some of my most loved books

Revisado: 09-26-22
I've read these stories since childhood. The sound of the violin captured my ears and enchanted my heart to love these stories all the more. The changes in Cherrys ' voice helped to give each character their own image in my mind. Endearing story of Pioneer life in the 1800's.
