Historia
Since Anabelle’s mother left for Earth to care for her own ailing mother, her days in New Galveston have been spent at school and her nights at her laconic father’s diner with Watson, the family Kitchen Engine and dishwasher, as her only companion. When the Silence came, and communication and shipments from Earth to its colonies on Mars stopped, life seemed stuck in foreboding stasis until the night Silas Mundt and his gang attacked.

Beautiful prose, good setting, flavorless and derivative and plodding plot.

A Breath of Fresh (Martian) Air
Revisado: 02-26-24
So unlike anything I’ve read in the best possible way. I love the clash of genres, but in the end it’s something all its own. Narrator is excellent.

Historia
It's been more than 50 years since a tornado tore through a drive-in movie theater in tiny Mercer, Illinois, leaving dozens of teens - a whole generation of Mercerites - dead in its wake. So when another tornado touches down in the exact same spot on the anniversary of this small-town tragedy, the town is shaken. For Brenna Ortiz, Joshua Calloway, and Callie Keller, the apprehension is more than just a feeling. Though they seem to share nothing more than a struggle to belong, the teens' paths continue to intersect, bringing them together when they least expect it.

Heartfelt but Slow
Revisado: 11-03-23
An interesting premise, with young, believable characters. The story was too slow for me, and outside of flashbacks to the great storm, struggles to build and maintain any real tension.

Historia
Eve looks like an ordinary 12-year-old girl, but there’s nothing ordinary about her. She has no last name. No parents or guardian. She’s on the run from a dangerous and secretive organization that will stop at nothing to track her down. And most astonishing of all: she’s a robot, a product of Eden Laboratories. When Eve discovers the truth, she realizes everything she thought she knew about herself is a lie. Eve manages to escape, fleeing the lab, the only home she’s ever known.

Ok, this was amazing
Revisado: 01-19-20
This book had some of the best material I have ever heard. Get this book, don’t listen to any of those trolls who only find happiness through criticism of other people’s work. I also recommend reading Eliza and her monsters by Francesca Zappia.

Historia
In the frigid pre-dawn hours, in a distressed Midwestern city, hundreds of desperate unemployed folks are lined up for a spot at a job fair. Without warning, a lone driver plows through the crowd in a stolen Mercedes, running over the innocent, backing up, and charging again. Eight people are killed; fifteen are wounded. The killer escapes. Mr. Mercedes is a war between good and evil, from the master of suspense whose insight into the mind of this obsessed, insane killer is chilling and unforgettable.

Great story, Excellent Performance
Revisado: 03-23-15
King spins a wonderful high stakes yarn that had me sitting petrified, afraid to breathe, at the heart pounding conclusion. Patton's performance deserves all the praise it's garnered. Can't wait for the next book!
