Dull and aching pendantic story
Revisado: 02-22-23
Dull, slow and unexciting. Each book leads into the next but most exciting thing in each book is last 5mins… not worth it!

Just what I needed! Honest, funny and uplifting!
Revisado: 06-25-22
I happened upon this book and wasn’t sure if I was going to be my thing. I worried it would be a bit too close to home given I could relate to the author and her experiences more generally… but she drew my in, had me laughing, made me feel a lot less alone and was generally a great diversion at a time when I needed it! Highly recommend it to anyone who is questioning - well anything really - about their lives and choices.

Historia
From 1501 to 1505, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti both lived and worked in Florence. Leonardo was a charming, handsome 50-year-old at the peak of his career. Michelangelo was a temperamental sculptor in his mid-20s, desperate to make a name for himself. Michelangelo is a virtual unknown when he returns to Florence and wins the commission to carve what will become one of the most famous sculptures of all time: David.

I really enjoyed this.
Whilst this is a work of fiction intertwined with historical fact - it was both informative and entertaining.
My only criticism is that the narrator’s volume fluctuates a lot making it a bit annoying.

Historia
Beartown is a small town in a large Swedish forest. For most of the year it is under a thick blanket of snow, experiencing the kind of cold and dark that brings people closer together - or pulls them apart. Its isolation means that Beartown has been slowly shrinking with each passing year. But now the town is on the verge of an astonishing revival. A bright new future is just around the corner. Until the day it is all put in jeopardy by a single, brutal act. It divides the town into those who think it should be hushed up and forgotten, and those who'll risk the future to see justice done.

Gripping and sad. Worth a listen
Revisado: 02-26-21
Not an easy listen. This is a story that deals with real issues - culture, parenting, substance abuse, abuse, rape, and what we choose to see, understand and/or accept. Ultimately a gripping story.
