However, as Anastasia begins sorting through the contents of the suitcase, she discovers a letter revealing a 50-year-old secret, one that unearths a long-buried scandal and unleashes a killer. Suddenly, Anastasia is back in sleuthing mode as she races to prevent a suitcase full of trouble from leading to more deaths.

Historia
My name is Lottie Lemon, and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety, aka dead pets. And for some reason those sweet, fluffy albeit paranormal cuties always seem to act as a not-so-great harbinger of deadly things to come for their previous owner. So when I saw that sweet orange tabby twirling around my landlord’s ankles, I figured Merilee was in for trouble.

Very Entertaining
Revisado: 03-15-25
I love any story that makes me laugh out loud. The scene where Lottie meets the judge is hilarious - it was like reading an excerpt from an early Evanovich book.
I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys mysteries with humor. I wish I had Book 2 in audio rather than e-book, this narrator did a great job.

Anastasia Pollack’s left with two teenage sons, a mountain of debt, and her hateful, cane-wielding communist mother-in-law. Anastasia’s job as crafts editor at American Woman magazine proves no respite when she discovers a dead body glued to her desk chair. Anastasia Crafting Mystery
Revisado: 03-13-25
Although Anastasia's life is full of unbelievable bad luck after the unexpected death of her husband, she is able to juggle family and work without completely losing her mind as she solves the murders hanging over her head.
The unique personalities of the characters allow the author to tell this story with much humor as well as action.
I very much recommend this book and look forward to the next adventure in this series.

Interesting story premise
Revisado: 03-25-21
I just finished the novella Hanging in Helena: Capital City Murders Book #6. The premise for the series is intriguing and I look forward to each new book.
The protagonist Nick O'Flannigan is a freelance photographer and an amateur detective. Nick has a contract to take photos of the capitol buildings in each of the 50 US capital cities over a period of 50 weeks for Travel USA magazine. While in Helena, MT, he inadvertently becomes involved with a murderer while trying to avoid public involvement in the current murder investigation.
Although I enjoyed the story very much, I found the plot to be even shorter than usual while time was repeatedly spent discussing Nick’s morning ablutions and his daily meals.
I just finished the novella Branded is Bismarck: Capital City Murders Book #7.
While in Bismarck, ND, Nick learns of the accidental death of a health young man which could have actually been a murder. Nick tries to assist the police while trying to avoid public involvement in the current investigation.
Although I enjoyed the story very much, I found the plot to be too short while much of it was spent discussing Nick’s morning ablutions and his daily meals.
I just finished the novella Parricide in Pierre: Capital City Murders Book #8.
While in Pierre, SD, the local police enlist Nick’s photography skills at a crime scene which leads to his involvement in trying to solve the mysterious unsolved crime.
I just finished the novella Carnage in Cheyenne: Capital City Murders Book #9.
Several months prior to Nick’s arrival in Cheyenne, WY, an odd shooting took place in a bridal shop. Three models were killed on Halloween and the incident is currently a cold case. Nick assists the local detective in finding a resolution to the crime.
I just finished the novella Defenestration in Denver: Capital City Murders Book #10.
While in Denver, CO, Nick attempts a working vacation when he is joined by three friends for the week. As usual, Nick becomes involved in a local murder and with the help of his friends, he is able to assist the police in closing the case.
Series is entertaining and the reader learns more about Nick in each novella.
