A love story, a life story, a woman's story.

This was a very well rounded book and had a little bit of everything. I liked that at the end, while a period in the main characters life was wrapped up well and the book felt finished, you really felt that this was just the beginning, and wonder at how the characters life would continue from that moment on. delightful gem of a book.

Great material, "Eh" narration

This is my second listen and it is truly one of the most useful books I've ever "read." A lot of people struggle when authors read their own books because it often isn't as pleasant a performance, but considering the material of the book, it didn't bother me so much. How do you make habit theory an exciting performance? By putting on a salesman's voice? "Yes you too can have great habits!!!" No that would ruin it. I think it was perfect just the way it was.

Compelling. Both disconcerting and heartwarming

I wasn't sure how i felt about Elanore's character at first. However, as the plot revealed the mystery of her past, and as new friends help her grow as a person, she becomes quite endearing. At the end I am left wanting more. The reading was fantastic; among the best I've heard. Its got wonderful variation in tone between characters, excellent acting. I really got lost in the narrators voice.

A slow start but strong finish.

I wasn't sure I'd like this at first. A book club recommended this and I thought I'd give it a go, but the voice acting bothered me at first and it started out feeling like a novel meant for someone younger. But i pressed on amd as the drama and details unfolded i became hooked, and it had a satisfying finish. It stopped feeling too young as well. I've still got mixed feelings about the reader, sometimes it was great, sometimes grating. I would still reccomend this audio book.

Best Albanian learning tool I've found

There really isn't much out there for learning Albanian and i struggled to find something to help me study independantly and understand the sounds of the words. With this i have been able to study on my daily walks to work, and its helped me connect the sounds of the letters to what I am reading on a page. I wish there were more units, but this gives me a starting point for my upcoming 6 months in Albania.
