Historia
In July 1950, Avi Shlaim, only five, and his family were forced into exile, fleeing their beloved Iraq to the new state of Israel. Today the once flourishing Jewish community of Iraq, at one time numbering over 130,000 and tracing its history back 2,600 years, has all but vanished.

ASTONISHING!

Very good and informative book. I had heard that after 1948 the Arab countries expelled Jews. It wasn't the way we've been told of...

Historia
Drawing on a wealth of untapped archival materials and the reports of generations of family members - mayors, judges, scholars, diplomats, and journalists - The Hundred Years' War on Palestine upends accepted interpretations of the conflict, which tend, at best, to describe a tragic clash between two peoples with claims to the same territory. Instead, Khalidi traces a hundred years of colonial war on the Palestinians, waged first by the Zionist movement and then Israel, but backed by Britain and the United States, the great powers of the age.

VERY IMPRESSIVE

Very powerful writing. A history of unjust events, powerfully written and beautifully performed. It's unbelievable, while ALL colonial powers have been disappeared all over the world long ago, it's still on going in Palestine in full force and cruelty! Now the whole world knows what's been done to the Palestinians for more than a hundred years and they have always been resisting heroically.

Historia
The Nobel laureate Otto Warburg was widely regarded in his day as one of the most important biochemists of the 20th century, a man whose research was integral to humanity’s understanding of cancer. He was also among the most despised figures in Nazi Germany. As a Jewish homosexual living openly with his male partner, Warburg represented all that the Third Reich abhorred. Yet Hitler and his top advisors dreaded cancer, and protected Warburg in the hope that he could cure it.

Very rich content

Enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Very well performed. Many times had to go back and re-listen over and over to understand a bit the scientific content.
