I wanted to like this book, I really did. It seemed like a nice quick read with a mildly interesting premise. I ignored the cover and how "this is a standard erotica" it looked because, hey, don't judge a book by its cover.
The writing wasn't bad in style, but the world and the characters lacked intrigue. A good novel has you asking questions, wondering what is going on in this new and interesting world. But throughout this book, I just didn't care.
The main character, despite being wonderfully portrayed by Marina Barrett, is deceptively coy, and by that I mean what seemed like a charming hero in the beginning, turned to a very milquetoast main character by the end. I thought there was very little chemistry between her and the main LI as well.
It was just hard to sit through, but I knew if I didn't sit through it in one sitting, I would never come back to it.
