I’m so happy the first book was for free. I figured I have nothing to lose and man I don’t regret it. Really enjoyed this book, my favorite one so far and can’t wait for the next.

What a surprise
Revisado: 04-16-25
I was listening to the Aldoran Chronicles. I got to book 4 and at the beginning it said to listen to these books because the story and characters play an important role in that series. I was very annoyed. It felt like I was being sucked into purchasing another series. Well a few chapters into the book and I was really enjoying it. Now that I am done I’m going to continue the series because it was that good. I’m happy I got suckered lol.

It’s not the same. Way too much bootlicking and groveling from minor characters. I was so looking forward to May and Joey getting together in the early books. I thought it would be an interesting dynamic between them. Nope, just a hot wife that gushes over her husband with very little thought. To make her being a drone ok, she literally has a drone mode.

With less than a month left to prepare the Earth for what is about to happen, Silas must pull out all the stops to save as many people as possible. Of course, if one system wasn't bad enough, Earth has been declared a contested world. Now, it isn't just the Earth competing any longer but at least two systems trying to gain control of the Earth.

Another great addition but
Revisado: 03-01-25
I loved the story but I am so happy the world governments part is over. As someone who loves history and pays attention to politics, the authors ideas on what were the problems was mind numbing. The overemphasis of politicians being the problem and not the billionaires and corporations that they work was annoying. No mention of the wars, proxy wars, destruction, death and destabilization America has caused, the supporting of over 70% of the worlds know dictators. Most of the world knows who the real threat is. So again, I am so happy we are past that now and we can get to the story.

The ninth floor. Nine armies, each led by rich and powerful aliens from across the galaxy. Each team has one objective: to capture and hold the castle at the very center of the battlefield. Strategy, alliances, pitched battles, and, of course, betrayal ... It all makes for great fun and even greater television. After all, none of these powerful aliens really die when they’re playing war. Except this time. This time, winner takes all. Those who fall, stay in the ground.

I mean come on man, how does this just keeps getting better and better. Within the first few mins I was laughing. Throughout the book I would laugh out loud and my coworkers would just look at me like I was crazy. Then there are moments where I got teary eyed. I am in agreement with some of the reviews I read here. Now I dread the wait until the next book. Goddammit Donut….

Good story but it has become somewhat redundant to me
Revisado: 02-04-25
Maybe it’s just me of the time between books but I’ve got a little bored of everyone having some emotional trauma they are dealing with all the time. It has become like whining to me. I still enjoy the story but I could do with less of major characters good and bad being so militant in their position then break down like babies.

Ilea is going home. After a small detour to raid an old Necromancer’s treasure room. After months in the barren and deadly North, Ilea returns to Ravenhall to rest, check-in on old friends, and of course–train her resistances. Her homecoming includes a visit to Riverwatch where she encounters new allies… and old enemies. But what would a good holiday be without a few fights and near-death experiences?

Starting to get old
Revisado: 12-10-24
I love the main character, I enjoy the story, when we have one but after 4 books there is no character growth with Ilea. She does the same exact thing over and over. There is character growth with the other characters but not her. Fight tougher monsters, barely survive, beat monster and do it again. At this point I think we all get it. I’m interested in fights that progress the story with interactions with other characters. I found myself skipping over her redundant fights to get to story elements or her just talking to someone other than herself/the Fay.

Historia
After the arrival of the multiversal monopoly BuyMort, life got brutal. All systems were through BuyMort. All currency was through BuyMort. All sales were through BuyMort. You could resist, you could compete, but it didn’t really matter because in the end you used BuyMort—or you perished. BuyMort be praised. But not everyone’s happy with the new system. Some, even, want to see it destroyed. It’s quick. It’s convenient. And it will help people kill you and your family as readily as it will help them sell you knickknacks for a quick mortie.

I can’t understand how it seems to keep getting better
Revisado: 10-11-24
Man oh man. I am left speechless on how good this book was. I loved the last book. The unexpected twist was great. But this one is even better. The only downside for me is this series sets the bar so high with story, action, humor and sadness, other books I might have really enjoyed fall flat.
