Excellent Holiday-themed Read
Revisado: 01-14-22
It was an absolute delight to read/listen to this book. I am very familiar with Nick Sullivan's narration and his DEEP Series, but I have not read any of Nicholas Harvey's work. As far as my memory serves me. My familiarity with Boone and Emily, mixed with AJ Bailey and a different cast of characters I have not met before now was brilliant. I am certain I will be looking into Nicholas Harvey's books now.
I have to share my favorite line from this book. This is not a spoiler, but Emily says "Do reindeer poop in the snow?" and I just about died laughing.
As for the audio, Nick Sullivan was as amazing as ever. His interpretation of accents and the use of different voices to match each character. I knew exactly who was speaking. The recording was flawless and very well done.
I do wish I had started this book during the Holiday season since the book's setting is Christmas. However, this is officially the first book I finished in 2022!

I cannot recommend this enough!
Revisado: 04-09-21
I am a huge fan of Nick Sullivan's The Deep series. I have enjoyed all the previous books and cannot recommend them enough. Mr. Sullivan writes a captivating story and narrates the tale with brilliance. The chance to revisit Boone and Emily on an all-new adventure was amazing. I listened to a large portion of this book while in the car, best experience I've ever had listening to an audiobook. Deep Devil is a journey in and of itself. Absolutely fantastic.

Sweet romance with a dash of magical-realism.
Revisado: 09-06-20
Elisa Keyston’s writing is whimsical, heartwarming, and overall very pleasant. And Blair Seibert reads the story with reverence to those aspects. I love Cass’ character and how she sees the supernatural realm. Down to the species of Fae living in the woods around Aunt Alexandra’s house. I also love that the story is set in Oregon. I’ve never been there, I felt like I was there. Not to mention Matt. Sweet, handsome Matt.
The audio itself was clean. No microphone feedback. No choppy cuts. It was smooth sailing. I actually listened to most of the audio with my eyes closed. I was transported into the story and could imagine each scene with vivid imagination. It was almost like watching a movie. Blair Seibert is a new narrator to me; before this book, I actually hadn’t known about her. I like finding new narrators to add to my list of voices.
Alexandra’s Riddle is a very pleasant read/listen, had me asking all the right questions, and I was rewarded with the answers. I definitely recommend this book. Don’t miss out!

One of my favorite things about this book/series
Revisado: 06-03-20
I have listened to 2 of Mr. Sullivan's books in the last few years, both part of the Deep Series. One of my favorite things about this book/series is how the author is also the orator. He portrays the characters and tells the story in the way that he wants it to be.
The Caribbean has some of the greatest and best diving locations in the world. Having never traveled to any of the locations mentioned in this book, I had a blast being taken on a tour of Belize. Boone and Emily are ever amazing and take curve-balls like champs.
The audio recording of this book was pristine. I have no complaints or criticisms. It was flawless. As for Mr. Sullivan's narrating, I have already commented on his amazing acting and reading. He gets the job done, and he gets it done right. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to future adventures!

Sugar. Honey. Iced. Tea.
Revisado: 11-30-19
I was not expecting that at all. Luke Romyn's ASH is PHENOMENAL. Not only is the story top-notch, but the narrator, Jay Snyder, could not have been anyone else. Going into this audiobook, I did not know what to expect. Every time I turned a corner and I thought I knew what was coming, I was dead wrong. And I freakin' loved it! Each chapter unlocked a new detail about Ash and getting to know the people around him, hearing their reactions to this mystery, non-priest was just mind-blowing.
The story alone is above average. I do not know what to "compare" this book to, because it seems to be its own version of supernatural/paranormal and mystery/suspense. Luke Romyn has a winner. I would love to see a movie or a TV series based on this book.
Jay Snyder was amazing with his narration. I cannot say that I have heard him narrate before because I cannot recall it at all. The audio itself was the best I've ever heard before.

“I’m working on the greatest mystery ever!” was the last thing noted mystery novelist Mercedes Livingston said to seven-year-old Chris Matheson before walking out of Hill House Hotel never to be seen again. For decades, the writer’s fate remained a puzzling mystery until an autographed novel and a letter put a grown-up Chris Matheson on the trail of a cunning killer.

THE LAST THING SHE SAID is brilliant
Revisado: 11-19-19
THE LAST THING SHE SAID is brilliant. The opening chapter follows Chris when he's 7 years old! I loved that! Poor Chris, haha, being "dragged" to that conference. Having had the chance to read/listen ICE and WINTER FROST gave me a look at Lauren Carr's writing style. Which I really enjoy now that's I've been immersed in three of her books.
I LOVED how Ms. Carr included a book signing, an author meet/greet, and how a fan becomes amazing friends with their favorite author. Every book-lover's dream made reality through writing. And PSA: small tears were shed at one moment. That's just the kind of reader I am.
Mike Alger slayed the narration. I truly need to applaud his portrayal of the characters and the scenarios. I was fully with every word.
So, mystery lovers, and non-lovers because you will change your mind after visiting Lauren Carr's books, get your hands on this book. You will not be disappointed.

Lauren Carr has raised the bar
Revisado: 11-06-19
WINTER FROST is the second book of the Chris Matheson Cold Case Mysteries. From what I gather, it's complete stand-alone to the previous book, ICE. However, it does touch some details that were previously mentioned.
Lauren Carr definitely raised the bar with this one. The Geezer Squad had to be my favorite part, and like in ICE, we could hear the thoughts of the animals as well. I do not wish to spoil the book for anyone. But the main plot of this book is the sudden reappearance of Chris' "late" wife. As far as anyone knew, Blair was dead. But now there's a possibility she's actually alive and it's throwing a bit of a monkey-wrench into everything.
The narrator, Mike Alger, did a fantastic job. The multi-voices were amazing. I am actually curious to check out more of his narratives.

Revisado: 10-17-19
I do enjoy a good mystery, it just takes the right one to hold me. ICE by Lauren Carr is a page-turning, edge-of-your-seat kind of book. Every detail was pin-pointed. I loved follow Chris though his profession and his lifestyle.
The audio was fantastic. High-quality sound. I didn't hear any breathing against the microphone. The narrator, Mike Alger, was really great. This is the first time I listened to him.

Rising steeply from the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, the Dutch island of Saba is a sleepy paradise, the mountainous slopes dotted with little red-and-white cottages. But this little oasis has a less tranquil history, many of its inhabitants having descended from smugglers and pirates. Boone Fischer and Emily Durand are eager to explore their new home, but their peaceful lives are about to be shattered, as one of history's most powerful hurricanes begins to form - and a savage evil has made its way ashore. The sequel to the best seller Deep Shadow.

FIVE BRILLIANT SHINING STARS
Revisado: 05-23-19
I absolutely LOVED this audiobook. Having listened to the first book, Deep Shadow, I am familiar with the main character(s) and the theme of this series. I love that it takes place in the Caribbean. The witty banter between Boone and Emily. They have great chemistry and their side-romance does add to the story.
Nick Sullivan both writes and narrates his books. That's amazing. I find his narration very vibrant and realistic. If anyone else narrated this book, I don't think it would be the same experience. Because he is the author, I can tell he is giving the characters the voice he wants them to have, and what he wants readers/listeners to hear. And he does a bang-on job of it.
The audio was crystal clear. No choppy scenes or "too-long" periods of silence. Transitions from one scene to another were smooth and flawless. Amazing book. Highly recommend. FIVE BRILLIANT SHINING STARS. I wonder where Boone will go next.
