Historia
A crime reporter investigates the case of the deadly do-gooder! While Mike Lanson, reporter for the Gazette, was checking up on Clarence Proost, director of the Anti-Vice League, Proost was slain. There was a strip-tease dancer named Luzy who thought that "maybe" she murdered him. The police thought so too, but Mike didn't so he helped her hide out, hoping for the bigger story to break. All the gangsters in town didn't care who killed whom, all they wanted were the blackmail files Luzy had in hiding with her.

A Blast from the Hardboiled Past
Revisado: 01-29-24
I'm a sucker for a hardboiled detective story, so I was excited to get into this one. I'd never read (or listened) to anything from J. Harvey Bond, but I'd heard the name. It didn't disappoint. "Kill Me with Kindness" was exactly what I expected it to be - a tight little mystery full of the usual hardboiled tropes of a stalwart hero (with a weakness for a pretty faces), on the outs with the authority and a web of murder, greed, and vice. The bar set for this genre is pretty high (the likes of Chandler, Hammett, and MacDonald), so did it achieve what they did? No. But it was still enjoyable for a fan of the genre.
Lorraine Walters did an excellent job with the narration, but I have to say it was a strange choice of narrators - a woman reading a story told in first person POV through a male main character. It was a bit jarring at first, but I settled into it after the first half hour or so, and it didn't bother me for the rest of the story.

An Informative Treatise on Death and Afterlife
Revisado: 10-28-23
This book provides an informative treatise on death and the afterlife as seen through the lens of Tibetan Buddhism. The author takes what is a very complex subject and distills it down into more easily understood terms, a truly enlightening journey that primes the reader for deeper study of the Tibetan Book of the Dead. The narrator is also extremely smooth and easy on the ears. Can’t recommend this enough for fellow truth seekers looking to expand their understanding of themselves and eastern religion.

Historia
There are a few misconceptions about vampires I'd like to clear up. No, we don't sparkle in the sun. We don't turn into bats to fly through the night. We don't all look as good as Wesley Snipes in black leather. I'm not related to Dracula.

Sexy, Thrilling, and Oh-So Hot
Revisado: 10-18-23
Olive Spencer's take on vampire erotica is nothing short of breathtaking. It's a short listen, but when I tell you it's a hell of a ride, I'm not just whistling Dixie. It's the story of Bryce, a small-town guy going nowhere who has a chance encounter with a vampire named Camilla that turns his life upside down. In the world that Ms. Spencer creates, vampires don't just feed on blood. The feed through *other* carnal activities as well. So left to his own devices, Bryce stumbles through life for 20 years, surviving any way he can. Until one fateful day Camilla returns and shows him he's been doing it wrong the whole time.
I won't spoil the rest of the plot for you, but I will say that the feeding/spicy scenes are extremely hot. Ms. Spencer is a talented storyteller in general, but she really hit it out of the park with the sex scenes in this one. The descriptions are exquisite, the acts depraved. And the narrator's southern twang adds a wonderful realism to the story. You will believe wholeheartedly that the story is being told by a simple guy caught up in events beyond his understanding but so enraptured with bloodlust that he can't help but go along.
Give Blood Lust a listen. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Historia
Jenny: It wasn’t my fantasy to be with another man. At least, it wasn’t until my husband, Brad, told me that was his fantasy. He wanted to watch me and another man have adult-flavored fun. He wanted to watch me come alive sexually, and he wanted to watch another man make me fall apart. He knew I’d always be his but wanted to share me with some of his friends.

The Perfect Voice for a Hot, Hot, Tale
Revisado: 08-05-23
What a great listening experience. The source material is phenomenal. Hank Dolworth's approach to hotwife erotica is truly top notch. He doesn't just jump into the action, but spends time building the characters' motivations and desires, building the tension until they (and you, dear listener) are about ready to pop. Hank spends a lot of time with imagery and sensory descriptions, so that the reader (or listener) can visualize the scene with aching detail.
But what really puts this title over the top is the narration from Maddy Murmurs. Holy moly, if she isn't the perfect person to voice Jenny (the main character hotwife), I don't know who is. Ms. Murmurs strikes the perfect tone and intonation throughout, and the feeling she puts behind every word would make you believe she has some personal experience with the kind of journey Jenny sets off on in this story. Or, more likely, she's just a hell of a voice actor. It's a short book, but with Ms. Murmurs, the whole hour plus is like liquid sex in your ear-holes. Can't recommend it enough.
