OH WHAT A 💩 PERSON JOANNA WAS! I felt for Hillary, I really did. All she wanted was to find her child and here came Joanna to take advantage of her pain and her situation for some cash. I don’t know why I didn’t think of Joanna being a possible scammer, I guess I just wanted to believe Hillary had finally found the daughter she’d been looking for. I loved the plot and I wish this short read would’ve been longer.

Great short read, and very entertaining but that’s to be expected from Minka. I loved how all the wives came together to protect one. That is true friendship. That ending was unexpected yet so satisfying. If you haven’t read Minka Kent yet I suggest you do so. Truly a great writer.

I am grateful that this was such a short read because I don’t think I would’ve been able to deal with Rupert for a full-length book. I know Rupert lost his wife but damn that man was annoying as hell. It’s like his whole personality was his wife and now it’s his wife’s death. My goodness, the MC (Michael) deserves a prize for not jumping over tables just to smack Rupert across the face, he was incredibly disrespectful and intrusive drilling Michael about his failed relationship and it seemed like the group used “he just lost his wife” as an excuse even though they followed with “it’s not an excuse but still”.

I was so glad when Kate (Rupert’s sister) stood up for Michael after he spoke to her about leaving the trip early. The bomb that she dropped was crazy but also, how am I not surprised that Rupert was an absolute jerk to his wife?

That ending was… WOW, did not expect that lol. Kate and that ending are the only reason why I added another star.

I stumbled into this book at 4 in the morning after scrolling on kindle and finding Minka Kent’s book in this collection. I figured I’d just read them all in order. I’m not disappointed with this read. I love second-guessing myself in murder mysteries, it makes it fun and if the rest of Nita’s books are like this then I look forward to reading more from this author.

The book was good, but I thought Vivian was such a pushover. Her family annoyed me especially after her father disowned her and then her sister called telling her that “he’s still our father”. I wish Vivian would’ve told her to shut the hell up and stay out of it. I feel like she took way too long to put her foot down and stand up for herself. Besides her family, more specifically her parents I enjoyed everything else…

I see the hype with Dante Russo. I will never question Booktok again (this is a lie, if I didn't question everything that came out of Booktok I wouldn't be me). Thank god for audiobooks because now I live for Dante’s accent. And the pet name, I think I got a new favorite one! And I know you did not ask BUT that one scene when Dante goes home early because Christian did something to get Vivian and Heath (her ex) in the same room got me excited, like yes sir, go home and protect your woman! I loved the mentions of Christian, Stella, Queen Bridget, and her prince Rhys though they were unexpected for me. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series after I finish the Twisted series of course.

It took me a while to get to this book and I don’t know why I took so long! I definitely see the hype. I love Xaden, SHOCKER. Liam… Poor Liam, I will never forgive Rebecca for what she did to my boy Liam. Everyone seems to love Tairn and don’t get me wrong I love that dragon too, he was funny, but Andarna has a special place in my heart, she was too cute.

Dain
General Sorrengail

I won’t lie, I disliked Dain from the very start. He just seemed like the type of guy who befriends a woman for the sole purpose of getting her trust and getting in her pants. With that being said, Dain overstepping boundaries after telling Violet that he’d never look into her mind against her will again was not in my bingo card although it should’ve been… I don’t know why I never came to the conclusion that he could be overstepping boundaries until Xaden spelled it out…

In my opinion, the book was great, and it was very entertaining. That ending though, I did not expect it… I saw a spoiler (I didn’t think it was a spoiler at the time) about Brennan and I was SHOCKED. It does leave off with a cliffhanger so it’s a good thing the second book is already out.

I was a bit entertained at the beginning of this book and then after Lacey was introduced and the whole Hayden being hunted kind of just lost me a little bit. I was listening to the audiobook and at times I’d be a bit lost in between POVs. I honestly wish I would’ve liked it more than I did.

Before you pick up the audiobook please read the trigger warnings.

This book is the first book of interconnected standalones and I need book two PRONTO.

This book was so amazing, one of the few books to bring me to tears in the middle of the night. There was nothing that I couldn’t love about this story, except for maybe (not maybe, definitely) Sen’s parents & the sad excuse of a therapist his father was forcing him to go to. The toxic people in Sen’s life truly deserve the worst. The narrator was a great choice as well.

“𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒃𝒂𝒅 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍, 𝒉𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒄, 𝒂 𝒍𝒂𝒘 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒙𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒑𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒇𝒇 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅” - 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐀𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫

When I tell you Kai had me kicking my freaking feet when he found out about the hell his man was put through in the conversion camp, I am not joking. I was living for it! I LOVED how patient and understanding Kai was of Sen's situation. Kai was very publicly gay and I know it was hard for him to suppress his feelings for Sen when they were in public. I loved that he didn’t push him into it and was willing to wait until Sen was ready.

“𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆.’ 𝑵𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒊𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒋𝒖𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔. 𝑴𝒚 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅, 𝑲𝒂𝒊, 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒆𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒊𝒎, 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔.” - 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐫

I was waiting for him to stand up to his family, how dare they try to ambush him on his christmas vacation. The man is better than me because I would’ve slept at the bus stop the minute they tried to control who I spoke to. Matter of fact I wouldn’t have even shown up knowing the way they felt about his sexuality and their conditions.

“𝑰𝒇 𝑲𝒂𝒊 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒉𝒆’𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕. 𝑺𝒐 𝒈𝒐 𝒂𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅, 𝒑𝒐𝒑𝒔. 𝑯𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏’𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒊𝒎.” - 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞

The friendships that were formed were so wholesome. West might be my favorite, he wasn’t afraid to “square up”, the man tried solving everything with fists and it was hilarious. The way he didn’t hesitate to take punches for Sen did me in (happy tears of course). Sen truly found a family away from his parents and that made me extremely happy.

“𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆, 𝑲𝒂𝒊. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑰 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅. 𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍 𝒇𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰’𝒎 𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒆.” - 𝐄𝐥𝐢 𝐀𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫 (𝐊𝐚𝐢’𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫)

This story did hit a little close to home. I was not ready for the tears the scenes between Kai and his father caused. I really felt for Kai–understanding how hard it is to have such a close relative with Alzheimer’s and to have them not remember you is the worst. I appreciated that he had people in his corner that would help him through it.

“𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤?”
I absolutely would. It was so well written, I wish I could listen to it again for the first time.

It is always a pleasure to pick up one of Estelle’s books, she has a way of making sure we don’t feel alone with our struggles with ADHD. This workbook was honestly something I was definitely looking forward to as I am constantly trying to find new ways to manage my ADHD. I loved the ticking boxes that were included in this workbook, it helps the reader resonate with the content and the author. I will forever recommend Estelle’s books especially to those women who were diagnosed with ADHD later in life.

I don’t usually read these type of books but considering I already read Empowered Women with ADHD I figured give this a go since I’m trying to manage my ADHD. Just as the book mentioned this book was very educational. I really appreciated the meal planner Estelle integrated. If you haven’t read this yet, I definitely recommend.
