Historia
Jesus has so much for you. He's called you to be a joyful outsider like him. He was crucified as an outcast outside the city. Now he welcomes you to join him; to die to yourself and discover that sacrificial love has the power to change the world. In Joyful Outsiders, pastors Patrick Miller and Keith Simon will train you how to be a joyful outsider by laying out six ways to navigate a confusing culture at home, at work, and beyond.

Great read on spiritual personas
Revisado: 03-11-25
The authors go through six different types of Christian personalities: artists, advisors, builders, ambassadors, trainers, and protesters. They do a good job of explaining details of each personality in addition to strengths and weaknesses to make it easier for readers to determine which persona best fits them. The authors go to great lengths to explain that Christians work within each of these personas throughout their lives, but that one will stand out as their primary calling. It’s a good read and probably best suited for those younger in the faith who don’t have a clear hold of their spiritual gifts or a clear understanding of how to use their talents for God‘s glory within His kingdom. Overall, a worthwhile read.

Historia
Constance Greene confronts Manhattan’s most dangerous serial killer, Enoch Leng, bartering for her sister's life—but she is betrayed and turned away empty-handed, incandescent with rage. Unknown to Leng, Pendergast’s brother, Diogenes, appears unexpectedly, offering to help—for mysterious reasons of his own. Disguised as a cleric, Diogenes establishes himself in New York's notorious Five Points slum, manipulating events like a chess master, watching Leng’s every move…and awaiting his own chance to strike.

So sad when these books end
Revisado: 09-12-24
I have read them all, and each time a new one comes out I always try to set a slow pace to savor each page. But suddenly I find myself at the final word, jarred out of the wonderful world through which I’ve been carefully guided. Such amazing talent.

Historia
The subject of law and grace seems complicated yet so simple with a little understanding of basic fundamental truths. To understand it, you must go back to the beginning - the time of creation. And follow through to the times and seasons that transpired in between until the New Testament.

Not good
Revisado: 04-27-22
The author proclaims a “balanced approach” at the beginning, and from that point on declares his approach, which is confusing and often contradictory regarding the sovereignty of God within law and grace.

Historia
On the evening of November 24, 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked Flight 305—Portland to Seattle—with a fake bomb, collected a ransom of $200,000, and then parachuted from the rear of the plane, disappearing into the night...and into history. Fifty years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found with no blood left in their veins—sowing panic and reviving whispered tales of the infamous Savannah Vampire.

Great story - weird twist
Revisado: 10-08-21
No spoilers here, but the twist was an odd one for a Pendergast novel (I’ve read them all). It made it a challenge to re-engage, but it’s still a good story overall and still better than 90% of the books out there in the same genre.
