Historia
1950: Margaret Devonshire (Megs) is a 17-year-old student of mathematics and physics at Oxford University. When her beloved eight-year-old brother asks Megs if Narnia is real, logical Megs tells him it’s just a book for children, and certainly not true. Homebound due to his illness, and remaining fixated on his favorite books, George presses her to ask the author of the recently released novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe a question: “Where did Narnia come from?”

Historia
From the day that old Nana Reja found a baby abandoned under a bridge, the life of a small Mexican town forever changed. Disfigured and covered in a blanket of bees, little Simonopio is for some locals the stuff of superstition, a child kissed by the devil. But he is welcomed by landowners Francisco and Beatriz Morales, who adopt him and care for him. As he grows up, Simonopio becomes a cause for wonder to the Morales family, because when the uncannily gifted child closes his eyes, he can see what no one else can - visions of all that’s yet to come, both beautiful and dangerous.

What a beautiful story, beautifully told. I love the imagery, and the story of a generational family.

It's enough to send Lucy screaming back to Boston, except there's a mystery to solve and Oxford and her new vampire friends are kind of growing on her....

Historia
After a long and eventful life, Allan Karlsson ends up in a nursing home, believing it to be his last stop. The only problem is that he's still in good health, and in one day, he turns 100. A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn't interested (and he'd like a bit more control over his vodka consumption). So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey, involving, among other surprises, a suitcase stuffed with cash.

Listen to this book!
Revisado: 07-23-21
creative! Imaginative! Ridiculous! Fun! Harry Truman, an elephant, lots of explosions, a walk across the Himalayan Mountains, a 13 year Bali vacation compliments of Chairman Mao, making an atom bomb. What do all of these things have in common? One man. I love it! Listen to it!

Great book!
Revisado: 06-23-19
I liked everything about this book. The story line displays teenage angst to the ultimate degree! The originality of the plot line kept me engaged, and the conclusion felt satisfying after what seemed to be a hopeless situation.
I would recommend this novel to any teenager or adult. It would make an exciting movie!
