Historia
Based on seven years of ground-breaking research and hundreds of interviews, I Thought It Was Just Me shines a long-overdue light on an important truth: Our imperfections are what connect us to each other and to our humanity. Our vulnerabilities are not weaknesses; they are powerful reminders to keep our hearts and minds open to the reality that we're all in this together.

Important topic that we don’t talk about nearly enough

Shame is not the kind of thing I gravitate toward, but this book draws a helpful distinction between shame and guilt. It helps me in my adult relationships and parenting. I highly recommend it.

In Atlas of the Heart, Brown takes us on a journey through 87 of the emotions and experiences that define what it means to be human. As she maps the necessary skills and an actionable framework for meaningful connection, she gives us the language and tools to access a universe of new choices and second chances - a universe where we can share and steward the stories of our bravest and most heartbreaking moments with one another in a way that builds connection.

Good narration but book is lacking
Revisado: 01-28-23
This is one of those books that benefits from having the author provide the narration. Brené Brown tailors her reading for an auditory audience, which is helpful. However, she frequently vacillates between research and opinion without distinguishing the two. After hearing so much enthusiasm for her work, I found the book disappointing.

The book that revolutionized business communications has been updated for today's workplace. Crucial Conversations provides powerful skills to ensure every conversation - especially difficult ones - leads to the results you want. Written in an engaging and witty style, it teaches listeners how to be persuasive rather than abrasive, how to get back to productive dialogue when others blow up or clam up, and it offers powerful skills for mastering high-stakes conversations, regardless of the topic or person.

Great book and enjoyable audio format
Revisado: 01-03-23
I always prefer to hear from the author, and I enjoyed the way this audiobook toggled between two of the authors for variety. The content is fantastic. A must read!

Historia
Robert J. Morgan's book The Red Sea Rules has helped hundreds of thousands of people face life's difficulties and move from panic to praise. This sequel, The Jordan River Rules, explores how everything so far in your life (including your Red Sea moments of crisis) is simply his preparation for stronger days ahead. Perhaps you've survived your own Red Sea experiences, when the enemy was strong, the danger great, and the fear deep. God helped you through that, didn't he? He made a way for you when there seemed no way.

Highly recommend
Revisado: 10-31-21
I always enjoy Robert Morgan's books, and this is no exception. The Jordan River Rules will take you on a deeply personal journey into Jericho and also Morgan's own experiences of trusting God's promises. Because it delves into his wife's passing and other family matters, this is one audiobook that benefits from being read by its author.

Mere Christianity is C.S. Lewis' forceful and accessible doctrine of Christian belief. A former atheist applies logic to Christianity
Revisado: 12-24-20
This timeless classic presents the fundamental beliefs of Christianity in a refreshing way. I don't agree with every argument Lewis makes, but I appreciate his approach. It would be hard to forget some of his more clever analogies.
Originally created for radio, this book is well suited to an audio format. The narrator's accent lends to the narrative without being difficult to understand. Thoroughly enjoyable!

A must read book for any teenager!
Revisado: 09-30-16
My 10 and 13-year- old kids started listening begrudgingly. Soon, they were asking to continue. This important concept would not have resonated with them in the same way if an adult had written it. I'm so thankful to Brett and Alex for sharing their insights. Not to mention, I'm inspired to do hard things too!
