Historia
Patric Gagne realized she made others uncomfortable before she started kindergarten. Something about her caused people to react in a way she didn’t understand. She suspected it was because she didn’t feel things the way other kids did. Emotions like fear, guilt, and empathy eluded her. For the most part, she felt nothing. And she didn’t like the way that “nothing” felt.

So Relatable
Revisado: 01-01-25
Finally, a relatable book to help the world understand personalities on a spectrum instead of just "black and white." As a PhD student interested in this specific field, I'm thankful to see new information for a topic that so many people avoid rather than embrace. Thank you Patric for sharing the raw truth. I look forward to following your work!

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Lots of surprises
Revisado: 08-21-24
Well that was full of twists. Narrator still really needs to get her vocabulary down- "been" again. Especially when Wholly was pronounced as "wally." I couldn't help but recall those late night shows where the host goes around and asks simple questions that most people answer with no problem. Good acting requires reading and planning ahead.

One more thing
Revisado: 08-19-24
It is very irritating to have the same problem with Kate's boss. Why did he even bother to ask her to go to a case, stating that he had to have an answer right then only to pull her away two days later making the readers hate the boss because it seems irrational that he works pull get from a case so fast. I don't know anything that can be solved that fast.
As for the narrator, please, please, read the book before narrating. I think that's the issue, it seems like she hasn't read the story to get the characters and vocabulary correct.

Better detail
Revisado: 08-18-24
This book didn't feel so rushed as the last one. I still think the narrator could get better especially with the amount of acting she is recognized for. I didn't care about the audio glitches, didn't sound like a narrator issue. Hopefully this narrator continues to practice on her voice performance and focuses on bringing the stories to life. Again, she might do well to listen to Julia Whelan.

Needs a better narrator
Revisado: 08-17-24
The story line was certainly good, however, it felt like Parts of it were rushed and pieces of the story were skipped. It didn't make sense that the "director" would get so upset over a small situations, pull Kate from the case and threaten to fire Kate. I did not care for this narrator's performance in this book or the last two. they could use lessons from Julia Whelan on how to bring the characters to life.

Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

To Be Happy
Revisado: 08-12-24
At the beginning, I want certain I would like this book as I had others. I had all the questions but then after a couple of days decided to give it a chance. Julia Whelan brought the intensity out again and I found myself crying with the characters again. The "real" life story was helpful and somehow I think Emily Henry had researched therapy and I could relate to so many events in Harriet's life. Thank you again Emily, Julia, and the entire team that produced this audio book.
