I live that these women are all authentically themselves and totally comfortable with that! Julia thinks not wise, but she’s wrong about that! She is every bit as authentic as hers guests. Love this show! 👍🏻

Honest and Raw
Revisado: 04-13-24
Sally Field puts it all out there for everyone to see and at first I wondered why she would do this. By the time I finished the book I knew that she did it, not only for herself, but for her sons. She wanted them to really know her, flaws and all. She also did it for Baa. This is her love letter to her mother. All is forgiven. Love Sally more than I did before I started.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a Godess
Revisado: 04-30-23
Just keeping’ it real, Folks! She is gutsy, witty, brilliant, beautiful, and authentic, or really good at projecting that she is being transparent and honest, and that’s all we really need, right? LOVE her, love her mother, love her guests!! Truly someone I admire. HOMERUN, Julia! Thank you for this, and for sharing part of you and all of these wonderful women with US! I turn 60 this August, and I am now embracing it rather than feeling defeated about it. No greater gift for “my 3rd act”. 🩷

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

A little long, but a good story
Revisado: 02-17-23
Another great Taylor Jenkins Reid story. Like “Daisey Jones and The Six”, this story was a little longer than it needed to be, but I still enjoyed it. Worth a listen!

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

This is not an easy listen at first, but one definitely worth getting into. Don’t stop, even if you find the beginning depressing. Keep going!! It’s inspiring in the end. A lot of good lessons about one’s perspective on life.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Wonderful, Moving, Sobering
Revisado: 01-26-23
I chose this book in part because of it’s great reputation, and in part because my daughter is reading it in her 8th grade pre-AP English class. Due to its subject matter, I thought it might be good to be able to talk to her about it. I was amazed. The story was told in such an interesting way, the voice of the narrator was PERFECT for the part, and the characters were developed in such an authentic way. This is, no doubt, a great read, but I think it might have even have been better as an audio book. Many thanks! 👍🏻

Historia
Clint Hill will forever be remembered as the lone secret service agent who jumped onto the car after President Kennedy was shot, clinging to its sides as it sped toward the hospital. Even now, decades after JFK’s presidency, the public continues to be fascinated with the Kennedys - America’s royal family. To mark the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Hill recounts his indelible memories of those five days leading up to, and after, that tragic day in November 1963. Hill, as Jackie’s guard, experienced those days firsthand.

Sobering…
Revisado: 12-30-22
I was compelled to listen to this even though I knew it would be depressing as hell, and it was! Still, I was 2-months-old when the assassination occurred and I have always been fascinated by it. Somber but important to hear.
