Historia
In the 10 years since his classic Kitchen Confidential first alerted us to the idiosyncrasies and lurking perils of eating out, much has changed for the subculture of chefs and cooks, for the restaurant business and for Anthony Bourdain. Medium Raw explores those changes, tracking Bourdain's strange and unexpected voyage from journeyman cook to globe-traveling professional eater and drinker, and even to fatherhood. Bourdain takes no prisoners as he dissects what he's seen.

Lacks the good restaurant stories of Kitchen Condenti
Revisado: 04-15-22
Only for bourdain heads only. All the cool Ny/restaurant stories have already been told in the first book, underwhelming

Paris. The name alone conjures images of chestnut-lined boulevards, sidewalk cafés, breathtaking façades around every corner: in short, an exquisite romanticism that has captured the American imagination for as long as there have been Americans.

Not great if you don’t have kids, narrator has “NPR voice”
Revisado: 10-20-21
Some parts of this are very sweet, and touch you in an affecting way…then the author will go into a 40 minute break bedtime story he tells his kids, which is sort of like hearing your friend describe his weird dream for 40 minutes—no one wants to hear that for that long. Not only that, but these stories often only have tenuous at best connections to Paris. 70% of the material is child related.
Also the speaker does this Ira Glass cadence and voice tone which I personally think is annoying.

Historia
Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

Sublime
Revisado: 07-17-21
This book is entertaining start to finish. It’s a bit short, but in return there is no fat, it’s all A1 stuff. And Seth has a dozen guest stars to do voices
