Historia
Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Addictive listening for 'The Hunger Games'
Revisado: 09-26-12
What made the experience of listening to The Hunger Games the most enjoyable?
An incredibly compelling narrative and an almost instant emotional attachment to the main character. There was little chance of listening in small measures. If I was on a long haul flight, I would not have stopped listening for a second!!
What other book might you compare The Hunger Games to and why?
It made me think of Aldox Huxley's brilliant classic 'Brave New World' meets the TV series 'Survivor'.
Which character – as performed by Carolyn McCormick – was your favorite?
Kat was most certainly the most engaging character. The male voices tended to blend a little...
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
There is no way I would view a film of this book...I would be most certainly disappointed!!
Any additional comments?
A brilliant audiobook...one that I could not unplug!

Mitch, Amy's Father
Revisado: 07-15-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If the narrative had been less about Mitch the father and more about Amy the artist. It was painfully obvious that performance anxiety was at the root of the substance abuse YET performance was again and again encouraged and expected. Every time I heard the words "I recorded in my diary" it sounded like an awful, awful cashing in on family celebrity.
Would you ever listen to anything by Mitch Winehouse again?
Never.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Mitch Winehouse and Rupert Farley ?
Ummm...Amy's mother?
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment in how much insight I gained into the psyche of Mitch, but how very little was revealed about Amy.
Any additional comments?
God bless each and every one of our children. May their spirits soar...
