We all tend to think of Ina Garten as doing everything perfectly but in this book she really opens up as to all the challenges and pitfalls that each of us run into. She's SO relatable, inspiring and warm while sharing some very painful life experiences that drovecher to the hard work that garnered her such success. There are certainly applicable life and business lessons to be learned within this book. Such an enjoyable read and left me wanting to hear more!

What a sad but beautiful story of a very complicated family. I hope the remaining children find purpose and peace and break the cycles of the past.

There are so many business "how-to" books. Each has advice that can be put in place, but sometimes it's who you hear it from. This book isn't just for restaurants, but can be applied to businesses across the board. The advice goes a little deeper into management issues and is very useful for managing the owner!

I already admired the Queen, but this book and its author really gave a complete view of her amazing life! Thrust into royal service so early in her life, she took it all on with sobriety, grace, dignity and a keen sense of humor. In good times and difficult ones she didn't waver and put service and duty above all else. I highly recommend this book - you'll be left wanting more.

Timeless wisdom on how evil thinks

This book was written in 1942, with the "Toast" post-script being written 20 years later. It could very easily have been written today with no stretch in thought. C.S. Lewis said it was an unpleasant task to go into the mind of evil, but he captured exactly how the devil thinks in painful and convicting detail. This is a must read in my opinion and I can't believe I only read it for the first time so late in life. This particular audio version was excellently read.

I enjoyed hearing of all the women in his life and the parts that each one played. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt after listening to so many hours and details. This book not only sheds light on the women in Elvis's life, but it reflects his inner emptiness and is a little sad. For a man that the whole world loved, he seemed to have a void in his heart that really went off the rails after the death of his mother. He was a very complex person for sure. Very interesting read and very thorough also.

There is always more to the story and this thoroughly researched book proves that. It is an unbiased view presented from a medical standpoint, far beyond what was known to the public, or even many around Elvis, at the time. It's shocking how many physical ailments he had, yet pushed himself for his family, friends and fans. This book tells his story through the years, starting well before he was born. I highly recommend reading this to get a more complete picture of the life and death of Elvis Presley, which is free on sensationalism.

I really enjoy Tyrus on the Gutteld! show and love hearing his insights. He can talk from common sense, which is sorely lacking these days. I loved his first book and this one was great also - lots of insight on the issues of the day and how he would fix them.

This was a great book - as with all personal development, if you don't put into action what you hear, you don't reap the benefits!

Haunting and a stark warning...

I had trouble putting this audio book down. It evokes so many emotions and though it is long, it is riveting. I find it horrifying what humans can do to each other and listening to Mr. Herman's story was both horrible and inspiring. The narrator did a wonderful job conveying the words on the page in an interesting way. The story was a stark warning and lesson on what happens when humans dehumanize others to the point of actually feeling superior and righteous for abusing, imprisoning and killing them. Mr. Herman's mindset was so interesting and really kept him going forward, even though there was really no where else to go. What a long and terrible punishment for no crime, and he lost a long portion of his life as a political prisoner. People who believe Socialism and Communism are harmless need to read this, I would hope it would change their minds, but unfortunately ideology is very pervasive.
