Long Title - but good listen for artists
Revisado: 05-09-13
What didn’t you like about Richard Allen’s performance?
I did not like the narrator he had a boring monotone voice and read quite slow. I was able to speed up the playback so it wasn't so bad.
Any additional comments?
If you are an artist or want to know how to sell your artwork online, this book is worth the listen.
The book is quite detailed. The beginning of the book is an introduction of Facebook and Twitter, which might bore most listeners, however the author does mention to skip those chapters if you are familiar with them.
As a whole, I think the book is good and offers listeners a broad spectrum of advice on how to build a following online and sell your artwork.
Carey mostly emphasizes the important of social media and how to use it to build a following for your art. I believe he is spot on in terms of developing a brand for yourself.

Where does The Gift of Dyslexia rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
If you are dyslexic or know someone that is this book could change your life.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Gift of Dyslexia?
If you are dyslexic you, this book will help you understand that you are gifted. Which is probably completely the opposite of what your teachers and the school system has taught you.
What three words best describe the narrators’s performance?
The narration could be better.
Any additional comments?
This book is a must read (or listen) if you are dyslexic or know someone that is. Ron Davis, a dyslexic himself, explains dyslexia and how you can learn to overcome reading difficulties.
Davis explains that dyslexia is a gift and why some of the most famous and influential people (Einstein, Edison, da Vinci the list goes on and on) have been dyslexic. It is not a coincidence that these successful people were dyslexic, rather they were able to use their gift.
After reading this book, you will understand dyslexia is truly gift!

Would you ever listen to anything by T. Harv Eker again?
Not Likely
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I could not stand the tone of how the book was read.
Any additional comments?
I was barely able to get though this book. The author reads the book with a very condescending tone. The tone of this book is, “if you’re not a millionaire you must be an idiot that’s why your reading this book.” It seemed like he assumed that everyone reading this book was dirt poor and unable to handle their own personal finances. I thought the some concepts were overly simplified like rich people own businesses...think like a millionaire business owner not an employee...duh. Nothing earth shattering here.
While I wish everyone that has read this book success on their way to making millions, I cannot recommend this book. Check out Rich Dad Poor Dad or Think and Grow Rich before you buy this book.

Great Companion to Influence
Revisado: 05-02-13
Any additional comments?
I found this book to be a great companion book to Influence: Science and Practice
by Robert Cialdini. Unfortunately, Audible does not have that book available, so you’ll have to read it :)
I would say that this book is more of a “practical handbook” where as Influence: Science and Practice is more of the in depth theory and practice of influence. You will get the most out of this book if you are familiar with Cialdini’s Six Principles of Influence: reciprocation, consistency, social proof, liking, authority and scarcity.
Regardless if you have read Cialdini’s other book(s), you will find this book to be practical in everyday use of influence.

Good Read on the Wizard of Menlo Park
Revisado: 05-02-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”
― Thomas A. Edison
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed this book, it describes stories of Edison’s life and his method for success, perseverance, thinking, and idea creation. The book provides many practical and easy to use tools, exercises, and examples that anyone can use to enhance your creativity, entrepreneurial, and business sense.
One thing I did not like about this book is that certain topics within the book seem to be introduced and then abruptly ended with little depth where as other subjects are covered in sufficient depth. This is likely due to the abridgment. It’s too bad Audible doesn’t have and unabridged version. I would probably give this book 5 stars if it were unabridged.

Good book but not great...
Revisado: 05-02-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The author needed to provide more real life practical and success stories to go with his concepts in the book.
Would you recommend Product Idea to Product Success to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes, it is a good book if you are looking for no nonsense advice on going from idea to selling your product.
Was Product Idea to Product Success worth the listening time?
Yes, although the book felt like it was dragging at times.
Any additional comments?
The most annoying thing about this book is that the author plugs his business for “templates”. A plug here and there is OK - not that annoying, but he refers to various templates far too often in the book. While the information for his templates is all here in this book and you don’t need to go to his website to buy the templates the author seems to refer to these things in the book as though you should be looking at them. I suppose that’s his way of trying to get you to buy them from him.
Overall, I would say this is a good book to listen to if you have an idea for a product or business and don’t know where to start. This book offers a great overview of the overall process from idea to end user sales.

Revisado: 05-02-13
Would you listen to Hardcore Inventing again? Why?
Yes, there is a lot of useful advice.
Any additional comments?
This book is well written and narrated. To write a book on the invention process, is quite difficult. I have found that most of the books in this genera over simplify and over generalize the process. The authors beautifully blend practical real life stories with concepts of invention, patenting, and bringing your invention to market. This not only motivates the reader but also helps the reader understand the lessons for success.

Better than I expected
Revisado: 05-02-13
If you could sum up Entrepreneur, How to Start an Online Business in three words, what would they be?
To the Point
What did you like best about this story?
The author weaves in real life success stories with the concepts of her book.
Have you listened to any of Tania Rodrigues’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I can appreciate the narrator's British accent.
Any additional comments?
I have to admit, before purchasing this book, I felt like I would roll the dice with this one... I fully expected a lot of common two cent advice on how to create a website, register a domain, add a shopping cart to your online store, etc. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this is a book on business with a lot of practical advice for the entrepreneur.
It is well written with easy to understand concepts that are reinforced by real life successful online businesses. It is written for the UK market which makes the section on corporations and taxes less useful for the American listener, but there are many similar business structures and laws in both countries.
Other than requesting an adaptation for US laws, I am very pleased with this book and would recommend it!

What would have made How to Start an Import/Export Business better?
Put some practical information in it
Would you ever listen to anything by Entrepreneur Magazine again?
Not likely...
Any additional comments?
While there is some useful information in this book, I felt like this book is so dumb down and over generalized that I really did not come away with any practical knowledge.
The overall concept of the book and other books in this series is fine, the first part is specific, to the book topic, the second part is regurgitated general advice on how to start a business. While I don’t think any of the advice is bad per say, I just think that for most people the information is too basic and general that you won’t find this book useful at all.
Another gripe about this book is that, while they over generalize and sort of simplify the import / export the process they at the same time throw in every definition they can to make it sound so complicated. It sort of a lets cover every term and generally explain it but that doesn’t leave much use for the listener as there is little practical explanation in this book.

You can improve your charisma....Really
Revisado: 05-02-13
Any additional comments?
Eloquently written and read. This book is easy to listen to and is packed full of practical and useful information. The thing I like the most about this book is that it is written from the perspective of actually improving the readers charisma. Rather than fill readers will lots of useless theory on charisma and human interaction, Cabane gives the reader real world practical advice as well as exercises to improve your charisma.
If there is any negatives about this book, it is so full of great techniques and advice that you’ll probably have to listen to it 2-3 times or more to get the most out of this book. With that being said, she also provides the key exercises in both MP3 (see her website) and PDF so you have a handy takeaway guide you can immediately use.
I highly recommend this book!
