OK it was primarily a good story woven through the legal telescope. Several interesting characters who played interesting roles that kept me wondering what Boom was going to uncover next. But was the sex necessary? Somewhat yes, to convey a mischievous element in one character. However, the heavy duty descriptions did not seem necessary to the plot.

Would you listen to Herbert Hoover again? Why?

Yes. I always had a less than impressive regard for Hoover. That was because his presidency is linked with the Great Depression. Now I know much more about him; how and why he was able to become president. Regardless of political persuasion, one must admit that he accomplished much to be admired.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Herbert Hoover?

His struggle to meet the demands of Stanford.

Which scene was your favorite?

In general, his time in China.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Accomplishing the American Dream

Extensive legal detail May be more valuable to someone with a greater law background and I have. However the points made in the last two chapters can apply, I think, to how we should view the other branches of our government: executive and legislative. Breyer congratulates not only our separation of powers, but also how we have learned over 200 years to peacefully accept today's judgments, laws, and executive actions, knowing that we have a structure that allows for change "tomorrow". Breyer's presentation of our history shows that our governmental pendulum can to swing from side to side; and at the same time be flexible enough to let us constantly move forward.
