Historia
For much of the 20th and 21st centuries, women’s sexuality was an uncharted territory in science, studied far less frequently - and far less seriously - than its male counterpart. That is, until Emily Nagoski’s Come As You Are, which used groundbreaking science and research to prove that the most important factor in creating and sustaining a sex life filled with confidence and joy is not what the parts are or how they’re organized but how you feel about them.

I am
A 67 year old cis-gendered woman. Born in 1956. You have helped me to finally - finally - believe that the sum of me is normal. All I feel, have felt, think about myself, my sexuality - all normal. The concept of breaks and accelerators makes so much sense! It explains so much to me about why my mind and body work the way they do, think the way they do, and react erotically the way they do. Again, I am normal. All of me. In every way. Thank you!
Best of all: I have two elementary school aged granddaughters whom I have the privilege of being close to both emotionally and physically. I will take Ll I’ve learned from your book and do my darndest to teach my grandchildren that they too are normal. That they are perfect just the way they are. I’ll teach them as much as possible about the joy of being a woman. Basically, I’ll teach them your book tailored to their ages.
Thank you!
I highly recommend this book to everyone who is a woman and all who want to understand women. I especially recommend this book to all who love a particular woman and want to understand her better, be supportive in her effort to simply love Nd accept herself as she is. Nothing better than a loving, accepting, supportive partner!

This was my 3rd or 4th listen to this book. First listen was AFTER I’d started dating for the first time 11 years post-divorce and made the misstep of sleeping with the fella WAY too soon. 16 months later, broke it off with him (wasn’t who I thought he was) and I’m back out there dating again. Dating 3 guys right now as I see how things go before I decide who (if any) I choose to become exclusive with and add in the delicious flavor of sex. I love this book!! 🍦. I highly recommend it to any dating 13-113 year old female.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One year ago, Isabelle Drake's life changed forever: her toddler son, Mason, was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night while she and her husband were asleep in the next room. With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her—literally. Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year. Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can’t go on this way forever.

Great Audible Listen!
Wasn’t able to make the time to sit down and read this book club choice, so I chose Audible. The first 20 chapters were interesting and held my interest, but the second half sped along. The multiple twists at the end were unexpected, but the final reveal was exhilarating and had me practically jumping up and down with glee! Bravo to the author!

Historia
Well-meaning parents, influenced by the diet culture that surrounds us all, are often concerned about how to best feed their children. Nearly everyone is talking about what to do about the childhood obesity epidemic. Meanwhile, every proposed solution for how to feed kids to promote health and prevent weight-related health concerns don’t mention the importance of one thing: a healthy relationship with food.

Life Changing for My Grandchildren and for Myself.
Revisado: 03-06-23
I was born in 1956. Was raised as a white middle class girl among 7 children - 3 girls and 4 boys. I was the only one who grew up with “Chubby Girl” issues beginning in 5th grade. I was sexually abused beginning in 5th grade and that set me off on a path of getting fat in an attempt to fend off others from hurting me and then dieting forever to ward off the criticism from my parents and teasing from other students for being overweight. Geez! Can’t win for losing!
I’m 67 now, and finally at the weight goal I chased and adjective of “tiny” I craved. How did I do it? By 2 body altering surgeries (Gastric Sleeve in 2014 and Gastric Bypass in 2022). No way to achieve where I’m at. But that’s how I got here. Yes, with many dietary and lifestyle changes, but so not think I’d be here (weight wise) without the 2 surgeries as well.
I am hoping, praying, and educating myself in an attempt to save my granddaughters (ages 7 and 10) and future other grandchildren and possible great grandchildren from living a life of perpetually hating their bodies and starving themselves chasing the dream of the socially defined perfect body. I hope they will learn to love and accept themselves in the body they are in for the magnificent persons they are. I hope this book helps me lead them in that direction.
I was looking on Amazon today for the workbook that was mentioned/recommended in Chapter 14. Unfortunately the authors did not reference the workbook or mention who the authors of the recommended workbook are/is. There are 2-3 possible workbook choices listed for purchase on Amazon. I don’t want to buy the wrong one. I’ll research this week and see if I can determine which is the one that is recommended by the 2 nutritionist who wrote “How to Raise an Intuitive Eater.” ThNk you much for writing this wonderful, life altering guide. Bravo!

When I love a book I reread it. If I own it as an Audible book, I Re listen. This is one book I wish I could purchase the audio version and gift to atleast 3 family and friends. You can’t gift a book and expect a general non bookworm to stop, sit down, and read. But if I could gift an audio version, maybe they’d listen to it. This one is a box of Godiva dark chocolates - to a chocolate lover. I am a chocolate lover.

Life changing!
Revisado: 08-08-22
3 months ago I had surgery as the “last option” in treating my long standing GERD and have any hope of getting off two PPI medications. No one, nor I, ever questioned my diet, my lifestyle actions, or if I knew anything about the Acid Watcher Diet. I wish I’d learned of this book pre op. I’d have postponed surgery and requested 3-6 months to see if I couldn’t turn things around without surgery by closely following the Acid Watcher Diet. Well, at 10 weeks post op the heartburn, hoarseness, and regurgitation returned with a vengeance. I picked up a book I already had on my bookshelf (but had only skimmed) - The Acid Watcher Cookbook. Began to read that and learned of the book The Acid Watcher Diet. Immediately: found it on Audible, placed a hold on a copy at my library, ordered a new/used copy of my own thru www.thriftbooks.com, and snagged an ebook version via my library’s Libby app! I’m all in. I just
finished the Audible version. I started the changes immediately, two days ago. I am very hopeful. Thank you! ps: I’ll keep my eyes open for an updated version. This one was copyrighted in 2017. It is now August 2022. I will be passing this life changing AWD news along! Bravo for writing this book!

Historia
If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. On May 17, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

I am white
Revisado: 02-07-19
The question is - so what?!
I have friends who are black/African-American and I have a granddaughter who is mixed-race (black/white). What this book has taught me... Allowed me to learn is that not talking about racism doesn't mean I am not a racist. I think I've just been raised to think I'm white and that's just life. I've never even given a thought to what life must be like for my nonwhite friends. Now, with my precious grand baby, now that made me stop and think. Think of how much harder life will be for her as a mixed race female. I know life’s harder if you’re a woman, a female (of any age). But I don’t want her life to be harder! Well, then I’d better wake up, get busy, and do all I can to help her navigate this white world - what seems to be the leaders of the US want it to be. Especially as long as Trump’s around. I pray he’s out of office come January 2021. I pray.
This was a book written, I think, just to me. A just retired NICU RN with a mixed race grand baby (almost 4yo). I thank the author (whom I’d never read before) for tackling this delicate but REAL subject. Thank you. Just so happened to be a book club book, and I’m so glad it was chosen! My book club met last night and the topic was only this book. Just so happened to be only white people who came last night. It may have made it easier to discuss the racism topic but I’m sure we did not learn anything new from each other. That’s a shame.
I plan to talk openly with my girlfriends of color about this book. I’ll even ask them to read it so we can discuss it - if they will.
I highly recommend this book! My next Audible purchase will be a book by this author. Can’t believe how many books she’s already published. Bravo‼️📚

Outstanding Listen!
Revisado: 01-29-19
I was on a road trip and listening to this book. I loved it! Am restarting it again (now that I’m home) to make certain I caught every word. It is a story with so many life lessons I couldn’t even keep track and I want to make sure that I caught them all. If nothing else I can tell you this: I will do my very best to be much kinder to every person I meet, and I hope I continue that for the rest of my life! I recognized in myself a long time ago that I tend to get impatient with people. I understand now what a mean and rude thing it is to treat other people that way. You don’t know me from Adam, but if I’ve ever been rude to you or treated you impatiently, I sincerely apologize and ask you to forgive me. Kindness is my new personal motto!
The actors portraying the many characters were magnificent. Such a great job and my thanks to everyone - especially the author or authors. (Mr. Tucci - thank you!)
