Historia
Weston Belmont. The man is a shameless flirt. He oozes confidence and masculinity in a way that’s downright distracting. And in bed? He’s addictive. Everything with him is wild and impulsive and I’m desperate to regain some control. But no one has supported me like West does. And no one has ever made me feel as loved as he does either. So, while my brain says settling down with a small-town horse trainer is impossible… my heart says I’m right where I belong.

Excessive & unnecessary profanity
Revisado: 04-30-25
Having male/female narrators in a love story was nice. Good romance story even though somewhat predictable. The excessive profanity was totally unnecessary! Yes, occasionally adding emphasis it serves a purpose. However, in this case it was as if the author couldn’t think of verbs or adjectives so let’s just through in GD or drop the F bomb. I’ve read so many other romance novels that are just as rousing/sexy while using other language and creating the same results. Such a turn off. Almost stopped listening & has me asking myself do I want to read book 1 or book 3(yes read book 2 first) or any more of author’s books.

The dual stories of two loves

Wonderful book. Loved the way Sparks told both couple’s stories as you read through the book. Ira and Ruth then Sophia and Luke. Romance, intrigue, life choices and much more.

Historia
Tennessee, 1950: a time and place that straddles the past and present. Ivorie Walker is considered an old maid by the town (though she’s only in her early 30s), and she takes that label with good humor and a grain of salt. Ever since her parents passed away, she has hidden her loneliness behind a fierce independence and a claim of not needing anyone. But when she realizes that someone has been stealing vegetables from her garden - a feral, dirty-faced boy who disappears into the hills - something about him haunts Ivorie.

Great narratives, great plot diversity in characters. Love the simplicity of some of the characters.

Historia
When Sandra Leigh was seven years old, she fell into the role of protector of her mother and three younger siblings. One winter night, she ushered her mother out of the house during one of her father’s tirades, and then snuck her back into the dark home through a window. Sandra was used to events like these; what she wasn’t used to were the mountains and nature surrounding her new home in West Virginia.

The tenacity of Sandra no matter the circumstances.
Revisado: 03-07-25
Seemed a little drawn out. Perhaps some of the escapades of the daddy and family ie going to Florida in back could have been stated in a paragraph rather than a chapter! 16 hrs of listening to basically the same thing over and over. Important substance but just could have been condensed in my opinion.
