Loved all 60 hours of this series!

Great hard sci-fi. O’Keefe masterfully spins a web of characters and tech that feels like a real place. Joe Jamison brings it to life with superb narration.

Historia
For years, the ancient alien AI known as Skippy (the Magnificent, don’t forget that part) has been able to do one impossible thing after another. What is his secret? It’s simple: 100 percent Grade-A extreme awesomeness. And also because he had never been faced with an opponent of equal power. Until now. This time, he might need a little help from a band of filthy monkeys.

Craig, do not sell yourself short!
Revisado: 06-07-22
As a long time fan of this series I am happy to say that Señor Alanson has knocked it out of the park, yet again. In no small part due to the exceptional performance of the great R.C. Bray. I would read these books regardless but if anyone tries to cast another person to voice Skippy, I’m done. A TV series / movie deal is coming, if not already in the works.
My greatest hope is that in the translation from book to screen you get to work with people who respect your work and will let it come to life. Even grow it to new heights. Not try to change it into what they would like it to be.
I’m thinking about the new Halo TV series when I say this. An awesome piece of military sci-if was turned into a weird love story. I like love stories. It’s like eating a fluffer nutter sandwich only to realize, with your first bite, you accidentally bit into a ham sandwich. I like ham sandwiches just not when I’m craving a fluffer nutter.
What I’m babbling on about is I love this shit! I am in awe that 14 books in I still wake up at 1am to download and listen to the first half hour of a brand new book. That’s how good they are. Genuinely funny and they make my month every time I get to go on a new adventure with Joe and Skippy.
I would listen to a short story about Joe and Skippy going to Target because I know it’s going to have my wife wondering why I’m making the dumbest “HeeHaw” laugh she’s ever heard.
Thank you Craig Alanson and RC Bray for being the best thing HardMilSciFi has going for it right now.
Also, gonna buy a shirt, podiums got some cool pirate/skippy merch up now. You should check it out folks. Looks like some real military grade stuff ;)
Peace out assholes!

Historia
Neal Asher takes on first contact, Polity style. This original novel recounts the first contact between the aggressive Prador aliens, and the Polity Collective as it is forced to retool its society to a war footing. The overwhelming brute force of the Prador dreadnaughts causes several worlds and space stations to be overrun. Prador Moon follows the initial Polity defeats, to the first draws, and culminates in what might be the first Polity victory, told from the point of view of two unlikely heroes.

What is happening?
Revisado: 08-21-18
Sci-fi is my lens of choice when it comes to story telling. The characters this book do not have depth. You struggle to find their personal motivations in between the lines of the story. I really wanted a galaxy spanning series with multiple books but if I can't find a driving force I lose interest very quickly. Made it about half way through before having to shelve this one. Interesting concepts but hard to sift through.

Revisado: 07-31-15
The Pillars of the earth covers approximately 60 years in the course of a communities struggle to build a cathedral. Not only is there unrivaled detail as to how this was accomplished during the Middle Ages but the book gives amazing insight into the everyday lives of the common folk of England during this period. I like that you hear little about kings and bishops but mostly about simply they struggle to survive.
