Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Interesting
Revisado: 07-27-24
Hollywood is not all fairy tales and magical. It's a factory that uses and abuses. With a mother like hers and than being around so many megalomaniacs, I'm hoping Ms. McCurdy's recovery goes well.

History by a soldier
Revisado: 07-25-24
Colonel Hackworth did a great job relaying his experiences in the Korean and Vietnam wars. His insight into the bureaucracy of the modern military was and continues to be its downfall. The MIC gets richer. The politicians get richer. The people get the shaft.

Historia
One of the most important and objective firsthand accounts of the Civil War. Unlike some other Confederate memoirists, General Edward Porter Alexander objectively evaluated and criticized prominent Confederate officers, including Robert E. Lee. The result is a clear-eyed assessment of the bloody conflict that divided but subsequently united the nation.

In his song "You Can't Stop Rock and Roll" Ozzy Osbourne sings, "Rock and roll is my religion and my law". And that's why Raising Hell is a must-have for anyone who wants to hear about the iconoclastic culture of headbangers and the wild lives they lead. The book contains the crazy, funny, and sometimes horrifying anecdotes musicians have told about a lifestyle both invigorating and at times self-destructive.

Good
Revisado: 04-30-24
The stories of Heavy Metal debauchery is laid out in this book. I absolutely loved the tales of groupies, drugs, fights, and Spinal Tap moments. This book is not for the modern Heavy Metal fan. There's degrading stories of women, bullying, and Lemmy.

Gayle Dean Wardlow has been interviewing people who knew Robert Johnson since the early 1960s, and he was the person who discovered Johnson's death certificate in 1967.

Good History

The modern day "historians" hate memoirs like this. His recollection is excellent for his observations of battles, other officers, and the hardships.
