Historia
Like every other hobbit, Bilbo Baggins likes nothing better than a quiet evening in his snug hole in the ground, dining on a sumptuous dinner in front of a fire. But when a wandering wizard captivates him with tales of the unknown, Bilbo becomes restless. Soon he joins the wizard’s band of homeless dwarves in search of giant spiders, savage wolves, and other dangers. Bilbo quickly tires of the quest for adventure and longs for the security of his familiar home. But before he can return to his life of comfort, he must face the greatest threat of all.

Didn't like the narration
Revisado: 12-05-12
What did you like best about The Hobbit? What did you like least?
Of course, the story is a classic. However, the narration spoiled it for me. There were noticeable gaps in the dialogue. It didn't flow. Plus, the narrator kept switching accents and emphasis such that I couldn't tell which character he was trying to be at any given point.
Did Rob Inglis do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
No, I was confused a lot of the time. There were a lot of characters, but I kept thinking one of the dwarfs was speaking when it was supposed to be Bilbo.

Never again
Revisado: 11-22-09
This is my last Dan Brown book. I wanted the main character to suffer a horrible death so I could guiltlessly put the book down and not pick it up again. I barely made it to the end. I'm sure there's a market for this kind of junk. I wish I could get my money back!

Abrupt Ending!
Revisado: 11-03-07
This book ends so fast that it truly lacks finality. You're listening along and within seconds the whole thing is wrapped up and the listener is left feeling rather empty. You don't really sympathize with any of the characters, especially Kinsey. Also, the sound editing is so choppy that it's hard to pay attention to the dialog. Not Grafton's best.

Historia
Good and bad things seem to be coming in threes for Kinsey Millhone: on her 33rd birthday she moves back into her renovated apartment, gets hired to find an elderly lady supposedly living in the Mojave Desert by herself, and makes the top of ex-con Tyrone Patty's hit list.

Bad Sound Editing
Revisado: 09-13-07
Typical great Sue Grafton story, but the sound editing was terrible. There are long sound gaps between sentences that break the flow of the story. It's very noticable and very irritating. If you're not totally committed to listening, you find your mind wondering during the gaps. Love the story, hate the gaps!

I laughed so hard I almost drove my car off the road. This was by far the funniest Plum book yet! Maybe I need to have an exploding beaver at my next party!

Not the same
Revisado: 03-04-06
I've read most of Stabenow's books and this one does not measure up to what I'm used to. I enjoyed the story, but the suspense was not there. This was not one of those stories where you can't put it down. Her Shugak novels are those types of stories. This is not one of those novels you're afraid to read on a cold stormy night. An interesting story, but not up to the Shugak quality.
