Incredible performance by the author
Revisado: 02-23-24
I enjoyed the story from beginning to end. It would be a great work of fiction from someone’s imagination, but Sharon, Washington lived it. Her reading was fabulous! I loved all of her accents, all of her spacing… Sorry when it ended!

Can’t listen to this reade anymore
Revisado: 10-21-23
Story might be interesting, but the reader’s performance makes the whole book seem dreary. Very little emotion. Won’t be finishing it. Got on a sale so can’t return it…would if I could.

Can’t get into it….too gory
Revisado: 10-21-23
I’m nine hours into it and not going to listen anymore. Bought on a sale so can’t return it but would if I could. Very one dimensional story. Lots of repetition. And too much descriptive gore that doesn’t advance the story. The reader is okay, but often I can’t tell she has switched characters.

Enjoyed the overall story and appreciated author’s discussion and historical notes at the end. The reader did a good job of differentiating between characters.

Predictable… and preachy
Revisado: 05-31-23
The description made it sound interesting, so I gave it a try. Got it for discounted price…unfortunate because I can’t return for credit. Not finishing it. I don’t mind Christian based fiction, but at times it felt like I was being given a Sunday school lesson. I thought the story line boring and predictable. I will usually finish just about any book I start, but I didn’t care enough about the characters to find out what happens to the,.

More than tedious
Revisado: 12-09-22
I stuck this one out. Years ago I enjoyed reading Danielle steel. I don’t know if her writing style has changed, or I’ve just matured in my reading, but this was one of the most tedious books I’ve ever listen to. It should’ve been read by woman to start with. But it took nine hours to listen to something that could’ve been done into. Everything is very repetitious, and probably the most irritating thing is the continual use of the words ‘and’ and ‘but’. It just started grating on me. I Do not recommend this book for anyone.

Disappointed….
Revisado: 04-05-22
We have always enjoyed the Peter Ash stories, but neither my husband or I liked it. So much gratuitous violence. Like playing the piano by banging on the keys. Okay! I get it! Roy is a very bad person. Ugh.

Bizarre story
Revisado: 07-20-21
I’ve listened to 2/3 of this audio and am not going to finish it. The storyline and dialog just seem to get more and more bizarre. I got into it slowly…just wasn’t grabbing me. Then after about an hour my interest peaked until the storyline lost me. The reader does a great job with voices…lots of variation so no problem following who is who. But his strength isn’t enough for me to keep listening. And I nearly always will finish something I’ve started. Returning this title.
