Couldn't Do It
Revisado: 07-21-21
Was really looking forward to learning more about this case, the "woman behind the man" so to speak. but oh boy I just couldn't do it. There were a few things that really stood out to me and made me not like this audible original:
-Vicky Ward's voice was like nails on a chalkboard to me, very pretentious and at times almost bored sounding.
-Ward said she had recorded tapes of her and Jeffrey Epstein's conversations but had actors reenacting them?! How do we know how accurate or unbiased the reenactments are?
-The privilege and entitlement that I felt was an underlying thread throughout it. It seemed like the upper class/uber-rich that Epstein and Maxwell rubbed shoulders with just wanted to go over how they couldn't believe these people were in their circles.
-There also seemed to be a subtle sympathy for Ghislaine, I CAN understand that BUT no, not when underage girls and persons who think they can get away with anything are involved.
Needless to say, this wasn't for me.

Sooo Good!
Revisado: 01-21-21
These ladies are great to listen to, they have good rapport, do interesting true crime stories and are empathetic about the case they are discussing. At the end of the episode they give resources or a shout out to a charity that deals with the topic they've chosen, which is very cool. I am so glad I stumbled upon this podcast. It's now in my top 5 and each week I look forward to Thursdays. Listen and become fan friends of Kristin and Mogab. They're hilarious and real, just the best!

Irascible phonetics professor Henry Higgins makes a bet with his friend Colonel Pickering that he can train Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle to talk ‘like a lady’ and pass as a duchess at the Ambassador’s Ball. As the day of reckoning approaches, can Eliza convince the assembled aristocrats that she’s one of them? And what will become of her afterwards? This effervescent radio version of Shaw’s classic comedy features a stellar cast, including award-winning comedians Alistair McGowan as Henry Higgins, Morgana Robinson as Eliza Doolittle and Al Murray as Alfred Doolittle.

Really Good
Revisado: 05-15-20
I really enjoyed this particular production of Pygmalion. The actors were wonderful, at times it was a little hard to hear but it was very good, very well voiced. I did not, however like 'The "B" Story', the bonus at the end of Pygmalion. The voice of Shaw annoyed me and I felt took it away from the great play I had just listened too. But Pygmalion was excellent!

Couldn't Do It!
Revisado: 05-14-20
I tried listening to this, being that it is widely popular and only a little over an hour. However, I COULD NOT do it! It was dripping with pretentiousness. It sounded like mumbling at some points and I just could not get into the story of the first character. Too down in the dumps, mopey male. It was too much for me!
