Historia
Samson and Beyah have nothing in common on the surface. She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege. But one thing they do have in common is that they're both drawn to sad things. Which means they're drawn to each other. Beyah and Samson agree to stay in the shallow end of a summer fling. What Beyah doesn't realize is that a rip current is coming, and it's about to drag her heart out to sea.

Not the best
Revisado: 05-17-24
Poorly developed characters, story line tried to do too many things, felt just going through the motions. I was happy when the book was finally over...sadly I usually enjoy Carolyn Browns books.

He finds himself sitting with the wallflowers at a ball - something he doesn't take too kindly to. Miss Amelia Basingstoke has no dowry and enough dreadful relations to ensure that even on her third season, she is unmarried and a confirmed wallflower. Her only friend is a large boisterous dog of dubious character.

Waiting and waiting on the story line to develop!
Revisado: 04-14-16
Where does Dark Promises rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Not one of my favorites and I have loved most of the Dark Series. It had the potential to be a great book but it went too far with the sexual encounters!
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Develop the storyline more and less detail of the the sexual encounters! Trixie was interesting but Gabrielle was a really sad character!
What aspect of Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross ’s performance would you have changed?
Hate that I spent a credit!

It's early 1938, and Maisie Dobbs is back in England. On a fine yet chilly morning, as she walks toward Fitzroy Square - a place of many memories - she is intercepted by Brian Huntley and Robert MacFarlane of the Secret Service. The German government has agreed to release a British subject from prison, but only if he is handed over to a family member. Because the man's wife is bedridden and his daughter has been killed in an accident, the Secret Service wants Maisie - who bears a striking resemblance to the daughter - to retrieve the man from Dachau....

Historia
As her four sisters become absorbed in their own romantic dramas, Mary Bennet stands apart, believing herself “not pretty enough” to dance with. She watches while Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley - and Mr. Wickham - waltz into her sisters’ lives, judging all three gentlemen quite dispassionately (and as it turns out, accurately). But Mary may not be quite so clear-sighted when she finally falls in love herself. She will first have to overcome her own brand of "pride and prejudice."

A unique prospective
Revisado: 06-01-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Enjoyable and unique prospective of Pride and Prejudice through the eyes of Mary Bennet, one of it's most underdeveloped characters. I love how her story was interwoven with the original book to create a complexed and emotional journey as she to finds love! If you love Pride and Prejudice you will enjoy this book.
