Historia
Not too long from today, a new, highly contagious virus makes its way across the globe. Most who get sick experience nothing worse than flu, fever, and headaches. But for the unlucky one percent - and nearly five million souls in the United States alone - the disease causes "Lock In": Victims fully awake and aware, but unable to move or respond to stimulus. The disease affects young, old, rich, poor, people of every color and creed. The world changes to meet the challenge.

Just meh.
Revisado: 03-12-16
The story was ok, but the production quality was poor and I wasn't all that impressed with the narration. There was almost no way to tell the difference between when Shane was talking and when Vann was talking and that was annoying. I don't understand why he could give different voices to minor characters but not the two main characters.

very good, but it gave me anxiety.
Revisado: 04-28-15
It took me months and months to finish this book. I stayed it last fall, but my father in law's health went south and he ended up moving in with us and then passing away in January. Because of everything that went on, my anxiety levels would shoot through the roof when I tried to listen to this book. So I put it away for a long while. However, I'm very glad I came back and finished it. She's a wonderful author and tells wonderfully human tales. The narrator did a fantastic job as well.

Historia
Six-time Emmy Award-winning funnyman Tim Conway, best known for his characters on The Carol Burnett Show, offers a straight-shooting and hilarious memoir about his life on stage and off as an actor and comedian. In television history, few entertainers have captured as many hearts and made as many people laugh as Tim Conway. There's nothing in the world that Tim Conway would rather do than entertain - and in his first-ever memoir, What's So Funny?, that's exactly what he does.

I'm going to get it on Kindle instead...
Revisado: 08-28-14
Would you try another book from the authors and/or the narrators?
I would love to read another book by Tim, but not on audio unless he narrates it himself. I just couldn't deal with the narration in this book. He always sounded like he was out of breath and didn't have the timing to pull off Tim's jokes.
How could the performance have been better?
Put simply, the narration. I loved the meat of the story, found his life interesting, but I couldn't get over how much the narrator distracted me from it. After listening for a few hours, I hated it. I will be getting the book on Kindle so that I can read it with Tim's voice in my head. I know I will love it the way it deserves to be loved then.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Yes, the story was nice, at least, as far as I got into it.
Any additional comments?
I would like my credit back.

Historia
When Pippa Dunn, adopted as an infant and raised terribly British, discovers that her birth parents are from the American South, she finds that "culture clash" has layers of meaning she'd never imagined. Meet The English American, a fabulously funny, deeply poignant debut novel that sprang from Alison Larkin's autobiographical one-woman show of the same name.

A good way to waste time
Revisado: 04-23-12
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I don't know if I would ever listen to this book again, but I didn't hate it. It was just OK. There were parts that annoyed and bored me, and there were parts that I really liked and enjoyed.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The ending was cute and just about what you'd hoped it would be
