Historia
Grace Reinhart Sachs is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. Devoted to her husband, a pediatric oncologist at a major cancer hospital, their young son Henry, and the patients she sees in her therapy practice, her days are full of familiar things: She lives in the very New York apartment in which she was raised, and sends Henry to the school she herself once attended. Dismayed by the ways in which women delude themselves, Grace is also the author of a book You Should Have Known, in which she cautions women to really hear what men are trying to tell them.

Unsympathetic Main Character
Revisado: 06-19-20
I found the heroin/victim almost annoying in her reactions to events and conversations. She has no personality/character and keeps not believing what’s going on. Doesn’t want to know what’s going on. Also she edits every thought for paragraphs and ends with a one word reply.

Historia
A classic, the Russian masterpiece by Turgenev, held as one of the greatest works of 19th Century fiction. The novel is thought of as a response to the growing cultural divide and alienation between liberals of the 1830s/1840s and the rapidly growing nihilist movement. These two philosophies were contrasted with the conservative Slavophiles, who believed that Russia's greatness lay in its traditional spirituality.

Narrator doesn’t keep your interest
Revisado: 02-14-20
Perhaps the translation is the problem, but I felt the narrator was inadequate. He has a sarcastic edge to his voice and doesn’t interpret the reading to keep you interested. It’s almost a monotone.

Historia
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Suspenseful
Revisado: 11-02-18
The story holds your interest and has good plot twists. I did not like the narrator as her voice makes me think of how you read to a child. I’d prefer a more “down to earth” realistic voice.
