Historia
Anna’s aunt has always warned her of the dangers of magic. Its twists. Its knots. Its deadly consequences. Now Anna counts down the days to the ceremony that will bind her magic forever. Until she meets Effie and Attis. They open her eyes to a London she never knew existed. A shop that sells memories. A secret library where the librarian feeds off words. A club where revellers lose themselves in a haze of spells. But as she is swept deeper into this world, Anna begins to wonder if her aunt was right all along.

Historia
Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

Not so Happy
Revisado: 07-08-24
I love Emily Henry, but I did not enjoy this book as much as her others. Maybe it’s because the title was conceiving. I thought it would be a happy book, but for most of the book the main character was in constant angst.

Refreshing
Revisado: 06-28-24
It’s been a while since I’ve given a five star review. This book was magical with a hint of historical fiction. Narrators were excellent. I listened to it for two days straight.

Historia
"The Near Witch" is only an old story told to frighten children. If the wind calls at night, you must not listen. The wind is lonely and always looking for company. There are no strangers in the town of Near. These are the truths that Lexi has heard all her life. But when an actual stranger, a boy who seems to fade like smoke, appears outside her home on the moor at night, she knows that at least one of these sayings is no longer true.

Love the Story
Revisado: 05-21-24
The story was very well written . Schwab knows how to spin a tale with the use of figurative language. My only complaint would be the narrator’s use of inflection.

46 minutes for $10.99. I love Madeleine Miller, she writes beautifully, but this story was entirely too short for the price.

Wonderful story, not so wonderful narrator
Revisado: 05-29-23
The storyline was mesmerizing, and I can’t wait to read the sequel. While the narrator had a good voice, she kept pausing at inappropriate times, almost sounding like a robot. I would still recommend reading this book because of the storyline.
