The ending wasn't very satisfying but probably the most realistic given the circumstances in the book. I did find some of the characters a little annoying and felt they could have spent more time on the central love triangle, especially with more time spent on the men.

Well written but lacking a good ending

I know that this is not the original ending the author had planned but I still didn't like it. I do sense sexist undertones in the decisions of the heroine to abandon her calling to be a space pilot & embracing a love for babies, but I think it reflects the time it was written in. Overall an interesting book.

Frustrating & boring

This book is mind-numbingly tedious. It is like Bridget Jones without the humour. He constantly makes stupid decisions, the characters are not likable or believable. Overall a waste of time-I only finished it because I was driving 6hours each way to a family reunion. I'm glad this is the end of the series.

Surprisingly Good!

Very good story- the characters were constantly evolving as events progressed. Although I felt at times that everyone seemed to be extremely stubborn and that a lot of their choices were very selfish, I guess that's not that different than in real life. At times the novel was fairly bloody & graphic when it came to injuries and rape but I'm still interested in hearing the first book and the end of the trilogy.

Long winded but cute

It was not that terribly interesting or clever, it's an overlong telling of how the newspaper was born in this odd little world. As they come up with novel ideas like calling it the Times it tends to drag. Even unusual beings such as vampires and wizards don't make it better. I usually love british books & british humour but I found this one to be a bit tedious.

Boring & Predictable

It was difficult to get through the whole thing. Her voice didn't change much with the characters & grated as the children's voices. The ending was ridiculous and frankly I skipped to the end because I couldn't take it anymore!
