Historia
He is Deucalion, a tattooed man of mysterious origin, a sleight-of-reality artist who has traveled the centuries with a secret worse than death. He arrives in New Orleans as a serial killer stalks the streets, a killer who carefully selects his victims for the humanity that is missing in himself. Deucalion's path will lead him to cool, tough police detective Carson O'Connor and her devoted partner, Michael Maddison, who are tracking the slayer but will soon discover signs of something far more terrifying: an entire race of killers who are much more - and less - than human.

I was recommended this by a friend and thought that the Frankenstein thing would have been played out but Dean Koontz has brought a a fun new kind of narrative.

Historia
Centered around an obscure group of malcontents intent on creating a terrible explosion in New York City in 1993, Fear City shows the final stages of young Jack becoming Repairman Jack. It is a dark and terrible story, full of plots and needless mayhem, with secret agents, a freelance torturer, a secret society as old as human history, love, death, and a very bleak triumph.

Historia
When his 5-year-old neighbor goes missing, Jack can't help feeling responsible. He should have taken Cody home when he found him riding his bicycle near the Pine Barrens. And then a lost man wanders out of the woods after being chased all night by...something. Jack knows, better than anyone, that the Barrens are dangerous - a true wilderness filled with people, creatures, and objects lost from sight and memory. Like the ancient, 15-foot-tall stone pyramid he, Weezy, and Eddie discover. Jack thinks it might have been a cage of some sort, but for what kind of animal, he can't say.

There's a reason you don't hear many footsteps in movies.
Revisado: 05-20-24
The story is a very fun one. I like finally listening about characters that have been mentioned throughout the cosmere for some time now. The magic system is pretty awesome too, very creative.
Unfortunately the dramatization suffers from someone not proof listening to the final product. The sound editing was either rushed or not checked by a listener of books. I get that it's supposed to be an adaptation of a graphic novel and that it's also DRAMATIZED but some sections are almost unlistenable due to the exaggerated amounts of footsteps and background.
Aside from that I really enjoyed the story and am probably going to splurge for the GN. Please if audible takes notes of these or the publishing companies do, please reedit some of the sounds for them and re-release them!!

Oh, and I’m dead again, or undead anyway. Life’s not quite finished taking a dump on me yet, because now something is hunting vampires in New York City. A smarmy-ass wizard has been called in to investigate – one who’s got a closet full of skeletons and eyes for my girlfriend.

Fun and unexpected
Revisado: 02-23-24
Always great to listen to Bill, especially when he firmly plants his foot in his mouth. Everyone (mostly) got some good exposition and a few fun characters were introduced. Sally got some fun now story so that's exciting.
if you wanted more BxC exposition then this the. you might be sad like me but it's not bad for where the story is. Solid addition to the series so far
