Historia
Millions of people climb the grand marble staircase to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art every year. But only a select few have unrestricted access to every nook and cranny. They’re the guards who roam unobtrusively in dark blue suits, keeping a watchful eye on the two million square foot treasure house. Caught up in his glamourous fledgling career at The New Yorker, Patrick Bringley never thought that he’d be one of them.

The tone of the author/reader is in keeping with the feeling one has when in such a reverential place as a grand museum. I was transported. The artwork came alive. Also I always wondered what the museum guards were thinking.

Historia
Earth has been reinventing itself for more than four billion years, keeping a record of its experiments in the form of rocks. Yet most of us live our lives on the planet with no idea of its extraordinary history, unable to interpret the language of the rocks that surround us. Geologist Marcia Bjornerud believes that our lives can be enriched by understanding our heritage on this old and creative planet. Contrary to their reputation, rocks have eventful lives—and they intersect with our own in surprising ways.

Rocks Rock!

What a wonderful way to learn about geology. Blending the human evolution of the author with the skeletal armature of the earth made for a very interesting read and learning process. A great book! Especially if you live in the Midwest.

Historia
Agnes is a wild creature who walks her family’s land with a falcon on her glove and is known throughout the countryside for her unusual gifts as a healer, understanding plants and potions better than she does people. Once she settles with her husband on Henley Street in Stratford-upon-Avon, she becomes a fiercely protective mother and a steadfast, centrifugal force in the life of her young husband, whose career on the London stage is taking off when his beloved young son succumbs to sudden fever.

Poetic Novel
Revisado: 02-19-21
Beautifully written in a sonnet-like flow. The descriptions overtook the thrust of the storyline early on. But wonderfully so. You’ll have to leave all manner of the 21st century to fully engage. Easily done and well worth it.
5 stars!

Historia
Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living feral in the woods, with no memory of his past. Now an adult, he still doesn't know where he comes from, and another child has gone missing. No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father - with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde - with whom she shares a tragic connection - to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.

A real spellbinder
Revisado: 03-30-20
I couldn’t stop listening. The Boy from the Woods is the best book I’ve read/listened to in a long time. The story flows with a smart mix of plots and realistic dialogue. And it doesn’t get bogged down with unnecessary descriptions.
I definitely recommend it.
