Halfway and hooked!

Read the "R" Is for Ricochet nearly 2 decades ago, and thought what a great concept to write a series using the alphabet. Took me awhile to have time to plug back in but the last year I look forward to my next Audible credit each month to get the next book.
Love how the copy is full of details which allows the reader to immerse themselves in the story. Hooked and looking forward to the next 13 books!

A tangled web of lies and coincidences!

What a fabulous piece of writing! This plot is like the peeling of an onion, with each chapter revealing a new layer of deception and plot twist. The ensuing web of connections between the honeymooners keeps wanting to read more. The narrative done with multiple storytellers adds to the drama. And the ending… did not see that coming! Well done!!

What’s not to LOVE!

Wow… this story kept me coming back for more. The book and movie references added themes and funny moments. The layering - and unraveling - of the characters personas was incredible. Gats off to the narrators. Having both a female and male voice made for a smooth and believable delivery, like you were there on this wild, plot twisting journey with them…. And just enough “heat” to make you swoon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Interesting plot and a grating voice

Enjoyed the plot and the layers of lies and deception. Loved Ed’s (the husband) and Dan’s (the lead detective) characters. Unfortunately, the male
narrator’s voice for Christine was hard to listen to. Suppose it fit her anxious character - just made me wince.

Great plot and twisted ending

The premise was captivating. The exploration of feelings, memories and the endless hope John would just return took many turns. And while it was clear it was some close to Eve, it was a surprise outcome. Well done.

… and their call to serving. Loved the weaving plot, the puzzles, the nature background, and the underlying threads of military past and present day challenges. Makes me want to visit Vermont. Highly recommended

Twists, turns and TikTok

Great characters. Love how the story and relationships developed. The infusion of modern day technology added to the plot in a very creative way. Narration was superb. I’ll be searching for Season 1 and looking forward to Season 3!

Unsure at first, then hooked on every word.

I had just finished my first Lisa Jewell novel and eagerly chose Breaking the Dark as my second. At first I questioned my choice. The premise was unexpected and I had a hard time connecting. To be honest, I put the book aside for awhile. I came back to it after finishing - and loving - another of Lisa’s novels, The Family Upstairs. On my second pass, I was hooked. A blend of present day social media influence and old world history with the unique thread of superhero powers. I’m glad I gave it a second chance!
