Interesting series starter

While the audiovisual started interesting, it did start to get a little redundant after the first few chapters. Especially with some of the characters. Perhaps my opinion wouldn't be so skewed if I wasn't thinking about the characters from the TV show as the author was narrating.

definitely different than the TV show

I don't recommend watching the TV show before listening to /reading the book. The show is a departure (pun intended) and not in the best way. The book is way more entertaining. I appreciated the different perspectives from Nick and Harper.

Vance makes the most with a so-so plot

While I'm a fan of Vance's narration, this story was discombobulated. Definitely not as strong as the first five books, I struggled to stay with the book until the end. Here's hoping that the next entry improves on the story.
