“Torah”, the Hebrew word for instruction or law, is the collective name for the first five Books of the Tanakh, or Jewish Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. They first appeared widely in written form among English-speaking Christians with the Geneva Bibles of the 16th century. This 21st century modernization of that text is called the Revised Geneva Translation. It is intended to make the Received Text as actionable as possible to a modern audience.

Deuteronomy, especially, is one of those books that Christians need to listen to again and again. The narration by Steve Cook had me on the edge of my seat. I loved it. Thank you.

Defense of Christian hedonism

The book blew me away, similar to the effect of John Piper's other book "God is the Gospel." Piper makes a good defense of what he calls "Christian hedonism." The narrator David Cochran Heath was excellent. I will be listening to this again.

Just the right speed for devotions

This is a slow reading of the Gospel of John, but I found it just perfect because it provides enough time to meditate and think while listening. The narrator has an excellent voice and did an outstanding job. I'll be listening to this again and again.

Enjoyable and excellently narrated

The story was mostly accurate to the Bible accounts. I wish it would have included more from John's Gospel, especially John 3:16 and the raising of Lazarus. The narration was outstanding and so were the intermissions of music.

Must read for every Christian

This is an amazing book that really cuts to the heart of the Christian life. It is not a "how to get saved book." It assumes you've already believed on Jesus Christ for etenal life. Andrew Murray's teachings are for the maturing of Christians. Derek Perkin's reading was also amazing. Not too fast nor too slow. Just right for devotions. I plan on listening to this book often.

Very good reading of KJV

I really like this reading of the KJV. Max McLean did a very nice job, but I took off one star because the reading is a little fast. That makes it less useful for devotions. But this speed may be appropriate for people who just want to listen casually.
