Fantastic set of short stories in the twilight imperium universe
Revisado: 10-13-24
The short stories do a good job of portraying the various alien races and interesting characters and the dynamics between their civilizations. The different stories have widely varying tones with some stories resembling a Star Trek episodes to others resembling and international spy thriller.
The last story is a longer Novella that is well well paced and engaging. With multiple viewpoints that collide together as the the plot unfolds.
Overall is well worth your time and money . Especially if you’re a fan of the franchise.

Historia
Millennia ago, the great empire of the Lazax brought the galaxy to heel, but now their ancient doctrine of strength and peace is failing. In the shadows, other factions begin to move against each other and their authoritarian masters. To rule themselves they must first tear down the crumbling regime they are forced to serve. When the Barony of Letnev, supplier of the Lazax's grand fleet, blockades a crucial wormhole to force the empire to listen to its demands, the spark of war is ignited and Zara Hail, an official for the Federation of Sol, is caught in the middle.

It well done account of the last days of the Empire
Revisado: 07-29-24
This book focuses more on the epic scales and large stacks than the previous twilight, imperium books, The pacing was well done, and the character points of views are all enjoyable . I found myself eager to return to each character perspective to see what was going to happen next. The author does a great job of weaving together the complex factors that triggered the fall of the Empire. With each brewing disaster having its own character perspective. The characters are sympathetic and I found myself hoping for their success against impossible odds.

The best book yet in the series
Revisado: 07-17-24
A tale of multi-species\nations operatives and diplomats come together to fight unknown conspiracy. The plot has great momentum that pulls the reader along. Of the three novels in the series this is my favorite. The author does a good job of building upon the characters and nations that he’s already established in the past books. A great read if you’re in the mood for a lighthearted thriller with good pacing in a interesting sci-fi world.

Splendid follow-up
Revisado: 07-12-24
Similar pacing and tone as the first book in the series. Of which I thoroughly enjoyed both. For the most part it’s a new set of main characters and the story takes place briefly after the finale of the last book.

Great fun adventure for anyone and extra fun for fans of the IP. It’s a good listen for when you’re in the mood for something light hearted that is well performed. Both the hero crew and the villain crew are enjoyable character get to know. The author did a good job of incorporating the board game into the world building and characters. I plan to listen the follow up books.
